Green Mountain Vista Thermal Blackout Cordless Roman Shade, 36 by 63-Inch, Sage

Our nursery is made up of a lot of Amazon items!! In this picture you can see the Stork Craft Hoop glider & ottoman in "turquoise," the Green Mountain Thermal 72" wide Roman Shades, and the "Corner Zig Zag Wall Shelf." We love all of them and I will post a review on each item as well as some other items we have purchased.These roman shades were EXACTLY what I was looking for. I don't care for curtains that hang past the window, especially for baby's room, so in lieu of blinds and curtains, I wanted roman shades.We have TONS of sunlight that shines straight into this room and makes it quite hot. Our house was built in the 80s and were not ready to invest in better windows yet, so the thermal feature was a must for our search criteria. It is hard to find 72" WIDE shades, but that's what I found here and they fit perfectly. We mounted them above/outside the window frame and they cover about a half inch on each side, effectively keeping light blocked. The handle behind the shade is easy to use and although you have to reach up under to grab it, I appreciate it not hanging below, for aesthetic reasons. Assembly was easy with two people. A smaller width wouldn't be a problem with one person. In the photo I have the shade partially drawn. It does fully extend below my windowsill and displays completely flat fabric when pulled all the way.We are addicted to getting packages and Amazon typically has the best pricing on a lot of items. We used the baby registry completion discount and participate in subscribe & save Amazon mom program. Amazon has been fantastic with any customer service issues that have arisen (items damaged in shipping).

I bought 2 of these shades for our nursery 4 years ago. We loved them so much we got 3 more when our second child came along. They’re beautiful and have clean lines. They don’t pose a choking hazards because there are no cords. They perfectly block out the light so our little ones sleep in and/or go to bed on time even on the long summer evenings. They also insulate and keep the heat/AC in the house! The best part by far was the company’s customer service. We had a problem with one of them (again, after 4 years of use), and when I called they FaceTimed me to diagnose the problem and instruct me as to how to fix it - a rod had popped out of the seam probably as a result of the kiddos being a bit too rough. The fact that I was able to repair it in no time at all without even having to take them down was amazing! Definitely a must buy item and a wonderful company to put your trust in!

I was so excited to use these for my nursery! They worked great for the first few months but then broke and no longer retract. Only my husband and I opened and shut them and ALWAYS used the inside handle even though it was a pain. Not worth the high cost cost for a glorified blanket over a window.

Have had these in my son's room for years now. LOVE the look/design, they are sturdy and do a great job blocking the light.

This purchase was a compromise between cost and quality. The quality is better than chain retailers that sell Bath and Bed goods, and these cordless roman shades come in more sizes. I purchased them in white 72-inch. The fabric doesn't look cheap but doesn't look expensive, either. The "insulation" is more of a barrier, it isn't thick, but it should work. It goes up and down nicely. Install was not hard, but it is outside-mounted, and the brackets stick up on the top about a third of an inch. Now I will have to buy a cornice or something to cover the brackets. My spouse does carpentry as a hobby; I am sure it is installed correctly. It shipped quickly and apparently from the manufacturer. I was about to purchase this from another website that sells Curtains for your Country home (and that website even sends free fabric samples), but I realized these were the same thing, cheaper, and with Prime shipping.

We bought this for our office and it does a good job of blacking out. There is a handle hidden under the shade that you pull on that rolls it up. Warning though, since it's a discrete handle, some people have tried to pull on the sides and that can get it dirty and won't roll up as nice. It looks very good rolled down and up. We have them also hung up in different colors in our kids room, where we wanted a no-string option for safety reasons. They were easy to install, but my only complaint is that it's a pain to detach if you need to do so

We have these shades in both our children's rooms. They look very nice and work great. They open to the same place each time so if you have more than one in the room they are uniform when open. I had previously purchased a cordless roman shade from Pottery Barn for double the price and I did not like them. They let in light in all the little holes where they were stitched and looked cheap if closed when it was light outside (because of all the light shining through). These also have some stitching holes where a little light comes in but there are fewer and they are uniform. They are good at blocking light, but won't completely darken the room.

This is my second set of these curtains!! I loved the first set so much I bought the second ones for my daughters upstairs bedroom. Her room gets pretty stuffy and hot during the day and these help keep out not only the light but the heat so that her room stays at a more comfortable temp. I ordered 2 curtains of the same width so that I could completely close one while leaving the other half open so the breeze could come in from the window. They have a smooth open and close feature that is cordless which is one of the main reasons I purchased them. I love the fact that you can set them at any height. These are a wonderful curtain!! Now just make more colors!!
