Incorrect description of tin's contents!
The tin says "Rasmalai" but the contents are NOT rasmalai. They are flattened pieces of rasgulla. Moreover, the tin I received was badly dented. I was told by Amazon to return it and a return coupon was supplied. However, the shop where returns are accepted for posting refused to accept the tin as it was leaking tiny amounts of syrup. I gave up. All in all, a waste of money and time.

Flattened 'Rasgulla'
This is a flattened 'Rasgulla' or 'Rasogolla' and contains rose-based sugar syrup. This is not 'Rasmalai' which is dipped in milk. In 'Rasagulla, the cottage cheese balls are cooked in sugar syrup till they double in size and are ready to be served. In'Rasmalai', the flattened cottage cheese balls are cooked in sugar syrup, then the sugar syrup is gently squeezed off and the flattened cheese balls are further immersed in saffron flavored sweetened thick milk to cook till soft. The taste is good atleast what one can expect in UK.

Flat rasgullas with ton of syrup
Around 8 flattened pieces of rasgulla in a ton of sugar syrup is what this is. I rarely write reviews but I felt the need to write this one for my Indian food lovers. You would be better off getting it from a local shop if you are in such an area. However, if not, then just assume you are buying flat rasgullas or else you will be disappointed. You can use the remaining syrup elsewhere though to feel a bit better

The Rasmalai tasted OK. There was too much syrup and not enough Rasmalai. It was sugar syrup not cream.

We ordered Rasmalai, tin name on Rasmalai but in side not Rasmalai. It’s says Rasmalai but really not Rasmalai.
