I have used it every day since I bought it
I really enjoy using this palette. It has enough room to mix and also enough spots to load with paint. I don't like that they put half sized triangles in the corners instead of sticking with the square theme. I guess for some people they can use these spots to put lesser used colors like white and black, but in my opinion its kind of difficult to load paint on your brush with that tiny little triangle spot. Its too small for most of my brushes. I usually just fill those with water so its a convenient spot to have a little extra bit of clean water. either way I am sure you can get creative and use this palette in a way that is convenient for you. its well made, very affordable, easy to use and easy to clean.

Great for a small desk
I love this pallet for working at my desk at home. It is small enough to not take up limited desk space but the large mixing space is great for color mixing and washes. It is just heavy enough I don't have to worry about my cat knocking it over like I do with those metal folding pallets. The 18 wells also meant I could have a wide selection but not to many while I am still getting started with painting. This was an excellent value for the price and I think it will last. The wells are also small enough they dry fairly well and I have not had any issues with staining.

I love this thing
I had been using plastic palettes for years. This is so much better. The mixing surface cleans up so easily, and the wells can hold the paint just like a dry pan, so it saves $$ because I am able to reuse the pigment. It seriously is a game changer. Perfect size too--not too big, not too small.

The difference between plastic and ceramic/porcelain is noticeable.
I KNEW I NEEDED A PALETTE when I began learning to watercolor paint. I first purchased a plastic watercolor palette with an insert with 18 wells, two large mixing spots between the wells, another with the lid, and a third with the insert. Unfortunately, one of the minor annoyances when working with plastic is the watercolor paint tends to bead. (I provided an image above). I tried a few things recommended by other artists, such as washing the plastic with toothpaste (did not work) and ultimately ended up using a very fine grit sandpaper in the large mixing areas to try and combat it--which sort of worked. Unfortunately, the added plastic palette insert broke, and the "airtight" part of the old plastic palette was not airtight. When this arrived, it did so in perfect condition with excellent precautions in place to keep it from damages. It isn't too thick, but has a decent weight to it that it doesn't slide around. The wells aren't as long or deep as my old plastic palette, but that is fine. The single mixing surface is good enough for the time being, but I feel like I may want a butcher's pan or a big single pan at some point for further mixing--for now, it does exactly what I need it to do, and without the beading. Super easy to clean, too, a quick rinse or wipe with a damp paper towel, and it's clean. The best, however, is unlike the plastic palette--sanded or not--it doesn't stain! (So far.) RECOMMEND? YES. I recommend this one to those beginner artists looking to say goodbye to plastic and hello to an affordable porcelain/ceramic palette.

Game changer for mixing watercolor
I love this palette. High quality, beautiful item, plenty of wells for paints, and a nice big surface for mixing. If you're using tupperware lids to mix watercolor paints like I was, this will be a game changer!

Very nice!
I know I didn't NEED a porcelain palette, I just wanted one. I tried to cheap out with a white plate but it wasn't practical. This is the most perfect little palette. It's a perfect size, I don't paint large paintings typically, good number of wells and plenty of mixing space. The price was right, light enough to hold, heavy enough for the cat not to knock it off the table, though he tried. Love it love it!

Lovely addition to my porcelain collection
This porcelain palette is smaller than I expected but very useful nonetheless. The best feature is that it's reversible. One side has the mixing area surrounded by 18 wells about the size of a half pan. You can actually stick a half pan in the well with a little blue tack. The reverse side is also glazed and has 12 squares measuring about 4.5cm by 5cm (1 3/4 inch by 2 inches approx.) The overall size is 14cm by 20cm (5 1/2 inches by 7 3/4 inches.) The mixing area on the front side is approx 11cm by 15cm (4 3/8 inches by 5 7/8 inches. Would I buy this again? Absolutely! The porcelain is smooth with no imperfections and level, no paint running to one side or the other like you often find with glazed butcher trays. It's definitely light enough to take with you on the go although I personally wouldn't for fear of breaking it. I do wish it was a bit larger but if you're looking for a porcelain palette with a small footprint than this is for you!

Versatile, compact ceramic palette
This is a handy palette which can be used in the way shown in the main photo, or turned upside down for 12 shallow mixing wells. It's small (around the size of an A5 book), which means the little wells for the source colours are smaller than ideal – about the same size as a traditional watercolour half pan. So not recommended if you like to work with bigger brushes or for large-scale paintings over A4, but great otherwise. I ordered a different, larger Meeden ceramic palette at the same time and this smaller one is noticeably different in colour. It's a creamy/milky shade, very close to the traditional white of quality watercolour paper, which is helpful for judging colour mixes. (The larger one I ordered was a cooler/bluer white.) Overall, this is an excellent value palette if you work on a small scale: it's well made, versatile and a good price. And, as with all ceramic palettes, it's much nicer to use than a plastic palette, as the mixes and washes don't bead up on the surface.

Fabuleuse

Bigger than expected
When I ordered it I thought it would be as big as the tin for 12 half pan paints, but it's almost 2x bigger than that! I like it a lot because I have spacious room to mix the paints. It's also handy to have two sides pallete so you can choose which pallete you want to use. It's a good price for such nice pallete!
