The fifth season of Outlander sees a continuation of Claire and Jamie?s fight to protect those they love, as they navigate the trials and tribulations of life in colonial America. Review: Outlander is the best writing to come out in decades - Outlander is a wonderful show, with passion, excitement and very well casted. You can't help but to fall in love with Jamie Fraser. I would recommend not only getting the DVDs but reading the books as well to get the whole experience. Review: Season 5 - Ok, this is a review of Season 5. Most of the reviews here right now are about Season 4, but whatever. I think two of the finest episodes of this series are here in Season 5. SPOILERS: My heart broke along with Jocasta's when she sent Murtaugh away, and again when she told the story of how she and Hector Cameron fled the Highlands in the wake of Culloden. I wondered how the series would handle what, in the books, was the opening of A Breath of Snow and Ashes, and expected it would be in Season 6, going along with how the story breaks in the books. To me, it was the other outstanding episode of Season 5. The way Claire's "dissociation" was handled was very realistically and sensitively done, and the way Ian, Fergus and Roger joined Jamie in her rescue still gives me the sniffles. I'm glad this issue wasn't left as a cliff-hanger and admire how well the story was depicted. Yes, there were divergences from the books but I don't think they diminished the through line of this epic story and thought they were beautifully told. Season 5 was a standout for me.

Outlander #6
I needed am extra copy of the most brilliantly written series Outlander. I will be sad when Starz ends this series but at least I will have the DVD's.

Best done series I have ever watched. Not for the faint of heart.
I have ALL episodes so far. I will acquire the rest as they come out. I am a romantic, so this amazing "love story" is right up my alley. It is a glimpse at various histories, wars, battles, rulers, etc. A real period piece. Yes it has SEX and violence and nudity. I am not offended. There are a couple of rape scenes that I would rather have not seen, but not throwing the baby out with the bath water. The characters are superb, you'll love/hate them. The acting is superb. The story, involving time travel, is fascinating.

#5 in the series. Fabulous! Must start with season 1 to understand. Better than the books!
Outlander is based on Diana Gabaldon’s book series only I personally think this series is better than the books. It’s a wonderful love story set in early to mid1700s & the couple travels from Scotland to several countries & land in USA just before the American Revolution. Season 5 is a continuation of the series. It begins just before the Revolution begins it’s the best love story in yrs & is a STARZ original award winning show. The seasons keep getting better! I highly recommend this series but you must start with season 1 to fully understand this series.

WHERE's THE 6-STAR RATING WHEN IT'S NEEDED?
A contemporary classic for sure. This series just keeps getting better and better, and it started at the top. Even the music has been ramped up to superlative levels. Period is just at the beginning of the Revolutionary War. Beg, buy, borrow or steal, but do not miss this season 5 of Outlander. Spoiler alert: of a sort: if you buy only this season and watch, you WILL go back and buy the previous 4 seasons too. It's not too early to start thinking Christmas gift, or birthday, anniversary, lovers' spat, any excuse to gift Outlander 5.
