This works as well or better than described in the other reviews. I only have a 1/2” deep section of wood for the device to anchor upon. Not a problem. The grip holds the phone perfectly. The description of it being difficult to align/position the “arm” of the unit is spot on, but I believe it’s because the unit then stays in that position even when bumped. It’s certainly not flimsy, especially when I am not using my dominant hand to scroll my phone and knock it around to do so.My husband did the research and bought this for me as a surprise. I read for a couple of hours off my phone in bed after he falls asleep. He notices the discomfort I have in holding and propping up the phone.I only wish he chose white instead of black (since our bed is white). Design-wise, it would be neat if it had a holder for the charging cord, for cord tidiness and accessibility.

Surprisingly good. I've bought some of these gooseneck things in the past and they've never really been that sturdy over time. After reading some of the reviews for this product I decided I'd give this one a try and it's really held up quite well and doesn't give any impressions of weakening.I sleep with my desk right behind me so it was an easy clip on - they have a clamping mechanism similar to a wrench where you put in the expanded clamp and slowly close one of the sides till it's locked in tight. Once that was clipped on then it felt solidly in place.I would say a couple tricky things at first is that there are ridges in the phone holder that are designed to support your phone. It's easy at first to "miss" the correct placement and put your phone in front of the ridge, which will eventually make it fall out. So there's a bit of a technique to placing your phone properly, but it's not annoying to learn since the logic of having the ridges there just makes sense.Also, manipulating the gooseneck requires some technique as well. When I first put this on my desk, I tried to just grab the gooseneck from the end and drag it into position and that lateral pressure ended up just taking off the clamp from the desk and the whole holder falling down (albeit it stayed locked in the position I wanted it to be). So when manipulating the gooseneck, the trick is to manipulate the end with one hand and hold it into place with the other. Do that and it'll work perfectly for you and hold your phone for hours - which is really a gamechanger for fellow nighttime phone users.All in all, I would comfortably buy this again, it's been a great QoL boost.

I use this every single day. To hold my camcorder and my phone when I want the flashlight at night. It honesty is the best quality I've found or used so far. Sturdy and not damaging to wherever you clamp it. My only complaint is that I wish the part that holds my items was able to close fully. I waited a long while to review this so I could be sure it withstands heavy use. Super worth it, and still going strong!

Seems well made. It is sturdy. The support arm is very very stiff to bend. But that is good as it will stay where you put it. It will not be easy for some elderly and women to bend it into desired position. The way it holds the phone and releases it is terrible. It will hold a phone that is 3.25 inches max with the case on.

Android phone holder works well for my Ultra. It seems to hold phone well. The securing part seems to hold well. I can maneuver phone into any position. The seller delivered as promised.
