As a new amputee awaiting my first prosthetic leg this was an insightful and for me an emotional read. I found so many similarities in her story that it was as if I was reading my own story as I turned each page. I recommend that anyone considering an amputation or those who have no other choice in the matter to go on their journey with this book close to them.

An amazing journey written with style and wit
An amazing journey written with style and wit! This book provides a glimpse into the heart and soul of a woman determined to not allow herself to be defined or limited by a malfunctioning foot. This story offered me insight that helped me as a nurse to not only understand my own patients but it is also filled with a lot of practical advice for someone who is coping with a new amputation.

The challenge and cure amputation offers is well described in this book.
She writes openly, honestly and from the heart with a clear intent to help others facing amputation. She included all of the most important details we should know while telling her story in a way that her readers could relate to her pain & her courage & move forward to the challenge. Thank you for your incredible effort. It helped me greatly.

So inspiring. I had goosebumps many times while reading.
It's not often a book grips me so much that I can't put it down. I literally walked around the house reading it on my Kindle. It's even better because God granted me the good luck of being able to know this author in real life. We met a few weeks ago. This is such a great combination of good writing with an inspiring story.

A must read for those contemplating an elective amputation
A well written story of one woman's life to elective amputation after years of coping with a congenital deformity. Her process to her decision was well planned out and is valuable information for those contemplating amputation
