Beefy knife
This is one beast of a knife. Its solid, great choice of metal, heavy duty, extremely sharp, fits comfortably in the hand, very easy to open and close with one hand, and with the tri ad locking system you dont ever have to worry about it accidentally closing. If I had to choose one pocket knife save my life with this would be my number one choice. The only thing more trustworthy for a combat knife is a fixed blade but as far as pocket knives go this one reigns supreme. The only thing to keep in mind is it is a big knife button if youre wanting an edc that you may or may not have to rely on one day then you definitely dont want a dainty one

Just absolutely excellent
A great knife. Heavy and thick, very strong blade with rock solid lock up. It is a lot to have in the pocket but this is a real significant knife. It's an amazing design. The steel is good. The grip is full size so you can get a lot of leverage on your cuts. Truly one of the few truly multi purpose knives out there. Very well built and finished. When you consider that it can do about anything the larger fixed blade SR1 can do and stilll be carried as an unobtrusive clip knife - then this knife is in a class of it's own based solely on that.

Built like a tank. Excellent quality. Beautiful but not bulky, fits pocket well.
The SR1 LITE is a tank. It has great ergonomics, economics and elegance. It's elegance is in its excellent quality control. Built like a bulwark, it has the superior strength of the Triad Lock. Highly recommended for heavy use.. Even the clip is extra strong. The clip can be tuned by inserting a screwdriver under the contact point. Some rough edges of the handle under the contact point can thus be smoothed out. After tuning, the extra strong clip slides easily over your jeans pocket. This knife has all pros, no cons. A truly 5 star knife, my favorite!

Good Knife After One Small Modification
Cold Steel SR1 Lite: Pros: Fit and finish on this knife are excellent. 4” Blade is strong and sturdy – 5mm thick at top of blade Blade locks up securely with no wobble Sharp enough out of the box to slice paper (see attached photo) Handle provides secure grip Manufactured in Taiwan rather than China Con: Clip has no flexibility, rendering it useless as is, but a small modification makes it work for me Solution: Since the clip is made from rigid steel, I could not get it to clip on the leg pocket of my Carhartt pants. After placing a small washer under the middle (lower) screw of the clip (see attached photo), this angled the clip up just enough that it now has just the right amount of tension on the seam at the top of my leg pocket. A slight amount of push gets the clip over the top seam of the pocket and then has no pressure on the main fabric of the pocket, so it should not cause undo wear on the fabric. I need not worry about the knife falling out of my pocket, should I become inverted, because it won’t go back over the top seam without my tugging on it a bit to get it out. I wanted to use a (properly flexible) clip from another knife, but none had holes that corresponded to the holes on the SR1 Lite, so drilling and tapping would have been required. Therefore, the addition of the washer was the simplest fix. In the other attached photo the SR1 Lite is next to my 3-1/2” Kershaw, which has been my EDC for about ten years now. I got the SR1 Lite because I wanted something a bit larger for the heavier cutting jobs at work and at home. I didn’t get the more expensive SR1 because of the spring assisted close, which I thought unnecessary and unsafe. The SR1 Lite supposedly has cheaper handle material, but I am completely satisfied with it, as it has a firmer grip than many of the other knives. The SR1 Lite is now my EDC and I think it’s a great knife for the price. Note: The website listed the blade as being 8Cr13MoV steel, but my blade is stamped 8Cr14MoV. I am no metallurgist, but from what I read online that means it has a bit more chromium, meaning a bit better corrosion resistance, but otherwise very similar. My Kershaw is 8Cr13MoV steel, and I’ve been quite happy with it. UPDATE: After using this knife for three months, I absolutely LOVE it! It easily handles the heavy jobs at work and at home, that all my previous, smaller knives, struggled with. After using it to slice through thick canvas, cut heavy plastic straps on pallets, and other similar jobs, it still has a sharp enough edge to easily open envelopes (I have not yet had to sharpen it). Despite it's size, it's light enough that I tend to forget it's in my leg pocket. If it came with a good clip that I didn't need to modify, it would definitely be a five star knife.

Indestructible
This is an indestructible knife; it came sharp and keeps its edge well. It fits perfectly into my hand, and I use it for everything, and I abuse it because it has utility for everything I poke, prod, pry, jam, cut, and still it remains a perfect knife the action is smooth, and I have never had any problems with it. Another plus is the quality for the price. If you work hard and want a good knife buy this one.

It is what it is. An inexpensive beast
I have had the original SR1. It’s a good knife but this SR1 Lite is also great at a third of the price. 8cr14mov is not a bad steel either and will do fine for most everyday tasks. Yeah I like high end steels too but usually those become safe queens where as the SR1 Lite I don’t worry about using. The fit and finish is good. Perfect centering and locks up solid and is also quite smooth. It has nylon washers but so does the original. It’s basically the same knife and the only difference between the SR1 and the Lite is the steel and G10. That’s it. It’s built the same and the Lite even uses a G10 back spacer like the original SR1. The lock bar has two areas that were ground off but for this price I could care less. You will be hard pressed to find a tank of knife like this at this price. Totally worth it. I still give it 5 stars. I literally got a $300 Benchmade that was off centered and could be fixed whereas the SR1 Lite is perfect. In the pic the centering looks off but it’s the camera angle.

Best edc ever.
My favorite daily carry. Thick, durable, easy to sharpen, very strong pocket clip. Lock works great, the handle is extremely comfortable and makes using it in different grip styles easy. The texture with the clip strength though can make it hard to get over some materials. Well balanced and for not being a "super steel" it still holds an edge pretty decently. Will definitely get another if I ever lose or somehow break this one.

One of the toughest folders available for the price and quality.
I was not in the market for a new pocket knife and have not purchased one in over 10 years, however after watching a video by JoeX on YT on the SR1 Lite where the knife took a massive and abnormal amount of abuse, I knew I had to buy one. It may be the last folder I buy because this knife is built to last. I have one of the original Cold Steel Recon 1 knives (see picture) and it has last me a very long time. The Cold Steel SR1 Lite is similar in size and weight. The blade on the SR1 Lite is noticeably thicker and is blade heavy. I don't abuse my knives intentionally, so I expect this knife will last my lifetime and have no doubt it will perform in an extreme situation. The only improvement this knife needs is a non-stippled/non-textured zone on the knife directly behind the pocket clip. The current design makes it tough to clip/unclip the knife from your pocket. I resolved this by taking off the clip and using a Dremel and sandpaper to smooth out the area immediately behind the clip. Problem solved. While removing the clip screws, I noticed Cold Steel used a loc-tite like substance to prevent the screws from coming loose. This is a very nice detail by Cold Steel, where other manufacturers could care less. Overall, you can't beat the value and build quality of the Cold Steel SR1 Lite. Despite needing to sand down the area behind the pocket clip, I still give this knife 5 of 5 stars. It may well be one of the toughest folders available for the price and quality.

Brutal stabil!
Hallo.

Stabiles Arbeitstier
Was soll ich sagen .
