Fit my singer 301. quilt sandwich size matters
Ordered this for my singer 301 slant shank. It fit perfect and was easy as any other foot to put on the machine.I put a practice quilt sandwich on and it sewed perfectly, no skipped stitches. I was a happy sewer. Then today, a week later, sat down for a little practice and had tons of skipped stitches.. frustrating to say the least. So I checked the tension, re-threaded, everything I could think to do. and still getting skipped stitches. Out of frustration, I pulled the first practice piece back out and again it sewed perfect. The difference was the thickness of the material in the sandwich…. The first sandwich was scrap quilting fabric, the second was thinner fabric from a sheet I had cut up to practice on trying to be a little thrifty. So….If you purchase and are having problems with skipped stitches, this could be your problem as it was mine.

Ruler fits poorly, but you CAN clean it up yourself to make it work
So....I am determined to use my old slant-shank Singer 500E (Rocketeer) for free motion quilting. I searched the internet high and wide, and the Westalee slant-shank ruler foot seems to be the only game in town. When it arrived, I tried to put it on my machine, and the fit was terrible. With some finagling, I was able to get the screw through the slot, but could not tighten it and the screw was "wobbly." The foot fits neither the screw nor the needle shaft. We are a family of engineers, and on closer inspection, we could tell the piece was cast from a mold, and still had the feel of a "raw" part. It is obvious that Westalee's contracted manufacturer didn't bother to do the "final cleanup" (and before they protest otherwise, just LOOK and FEEL the edges and surfaces, and you will see what I mean) of the surfaces, and THAT is why the ruler foot does not fit. Many here have just returned the part. But you CAN make it work - if you really want to. We just took a file to the inner surfaces of both the slot and the of the "claw" (that fits around the needle shaft) and it now fits perfectly. But that should not be on us, the customers, to have to make it work. I plan to email Westalee and let them know they need to have a heart-to-heart with their manufacturer. Until then, I cannot in good conscience recommend this foot. BUT....since there appears to be no other alternative out there yet (for slant-shank Singers), this may be your only option. In which case, grab a file and grease up your elbows (seriously, though, it only took a minute ;-)

FMQ and ruler work made easy
I've had a hard time finding a quality free motion foot for my slant machine. This works for ruler work and fmq. Only reason for the 4 starts is that it's a bit hard to see what you did since it's metal, but overall very happy with purchase.

Westalee slant foot not able to secure to needle bar (Singer 301 Slant)
The slot in the foot was too narrow to allow the Singer thumb screw to pass thru to secure to the needle bar. Big disappointment. No answer to pics and conversations with westalee customer rep, and email to customer service. Will have to return for a refund

Does not fit Singer slant 600
I think this foot is well made. However, it does not fit the old Singer Slant 600 as advertised.

It's not usable
The hole is not big enough to put the screw through to attach it to the machine.I'm not even certain it will work with my slant shank machine. The shank doesn't look long enough.I'm disappointed, as I expected a smoothly-machined and chromed foot for the price.

Sent it back immediately. Doesn’t work with 301.
It did not work. The shank is not long enough. Did not fit snugly or cleanly on the machine. The metal is thick and the foot screw wouldn’t tighten. I think this foot is not meant for a slant shank 301 but for a low shank, the stitch would not pick up the bottom thread. Sent it back immediately. Wasted 1 whole evening trying my best to get it to work.
