The Divine Move (Korean Movie with English, All Region DVD Version)

Very good movie.

The cast was perfect. Wonderful fight scenes.

Then you definitely want to rent this movie. Fantastic acting, edge-of-your-seat plot and an outcome you didn't see coming! I came across this movie by chance and thought it looked interesting bc the story is based around the board game, Baduk (Koren board game known as "Go" in English). It is similar to Chess in that it requires high levels of strategic thinking where you move pieces around to corner (or as in Chess, capture) your opponent. The goal is to take over the board and "trap" your opponent from being able to move any of their pieces. There is a vast subculture that revolves around the game, Go. And, as with Chess there is speed Go, gambling, and an underground world. I believe the game has been around for 1,000s of years. The story description is quite accurate and there is never a dull moment in the script. It kept me intrigued until the last frame. As a side note, the hit Korean drama, "The Glory" on Netflix also a revenge drama where the game Go is used as part of the protagonists strategy. The plot has two parallels that run throughout where as her skill improves in the game and she becomes a 'Master' player, she also gets closer and closer to cornering her targets of revenge. Much like in the series, "The Queen's Gambit" about Chess. Much like these other examples mentioned, this film carries the intensity of closing in on your target as reflected through opponents and challenges in the game of Go.

Good movie, sometimes hard to watch, as the action is too real! but I recommend it

If you like GO, or Baduk as its known in Korea, this is a movie you should see. Excellent performances and lots of action. The story is probably a 6/10 but its done really well. My only regret about a lot of these international movies - and The Divine Move is one of them - is the lack of a digital copy with the BR. Oh well, movie was still great.

Love this movie, I bought it after watching it a long time ago (it stuck in my head and wanted to see it again) and it's so worth it. Love Jung woo sung, he played a good part.

The history and action moves around the GO game. I confess I do not know much about this game. (After the movie I'll start looking at it, definitively) Maybe knowing more about this game will help to better understand the motivations behind each character in the movie. I said maybe, because the story, twists & turns are interesting enough to enjoy this movie. Overall, nice action film.

Great movie- highly recommend for fans of kung fu, or for anyone that enjoys the board game go and would like a fantastic story in the vein of the Count of Monte Cristo about it.

If you live in the UK the chances are you have never heard of the board game called Go, Go is a 2000 year old Asian board game that is as close to mental Kung Fu as you can get, i highly recommend you learn. The Divine Move has it all, Hustles, Gangsters, Go, revenge and Kung Fu all wrapped up in a perfect action movie, a movie by the way has a sequel coming, this high octane action movie should be on everyone's watch list. Learn to play Go England, you can buy great sets on here, without a doubt the best game in the world.
