Crafters Workshop TCW6X6-248 Framing Template, 6 by 6-Inch, Mini Cubist (3 Pack)

I LOVE Crafter's Workshop stencils. The quality is consistent and the designs are always cute. This one is no exception. I used the entire stencil on a couple of projects - and the projects turned out well. That said, I also like using just a portion of the stencil - using just part of the design can totally change the look. These work really well with spray inks, pens, acrylic paint, Gelatos/gel crayons, spackle, etc - just about any medium you can throw at them. Crafter's Workshop Templates are made from a translucent white mylar - so you can easily see where you are positioning the stencil on your project. (The importance of this cannot be underestimated once you've worked with stencils you can't see through.) Easily cleaned, nice weight, and durable. I love this design - and always return to Crafter's Workshop Templates. It's awesome that the designs TCW's offers are available in both their large (12"x12") and small (6"x6") sizes. They also have TONS of ideas on their site at[...]. Be careful - they are addictive!

I like to use this template to create backgrounds for A2 (5.5" x 4.25") greeting cards. The birthday card example in the customer image was created on 140 lb. watercolor paper using white acrylic paint, a gel plate, the stencil, and a brayer. The abstract design doesn't detract from the other decorative items on the card.The template itself is soft plastic and not particularly sturdy, but I didn't have any problem cleaning the acrylic paint off of it when I had completed my design.

The really tiny squares on the one corner are kind of too few and too small to really do anything. I liked the idea of random squares like this but actually they are different sizes but pretty evenly spaced. So it makes it kind of boring (and less random) in my opinion.

The pattern on this stencil is small enough for jewelry or other small projects.

I purchased 5 different styles of these to create textured backgrounds when I color. They are working well but are very high priced for a small template. I think I may also use them as stencils eventually and seem to be durable enough. I could have probably cut similar on my cutout machine but don't have time to figure it out right now.

Love stencils. I use them a lot in my mixed media collage paintings. I wish stencils were cheaper because some of them are ridiculously priced. This was decently priced and a good size. Durable, so my students can use this as well.

This has turned out to be one of my favorite stencils. I am not much of a crafter, but I needed stencils for an on line class. A few of them - like this is just so versatile, I have found I reach for it a lot. It is great with the Gelli plates, and sturdy enough to take a beating with acrylic mediums. There are most likely endless uses for this little gem. I LOVE it! I used it just last night in a painting.

I am an acrylic artist and am experimenting with mixed media . Stencils have caught my interest. I am not interested in stencils that are pictures of objects, but rather , stencils that can help me add textural interest, hence my buying a semi geometric , abstract stencil. I can use it for texture or background interest, without taking away from my painting ! So far my stencil efforts have been successful enough that I am continuing to pick up a stencil here and there that is abstract. They give a cleaner design than my trying to draw or dribble paint !!
