It was hard not to try and read it all the way through. But since I often read at night, sleep was a must. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 STARS - TITLE MISLEADING! *by N***2 on Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2017* I almost past on this one, because of the title. I had read another author about love letters and there was very little interaction between the character's in that story - all told through love letters which turned me off. This isn't like that and I am glad I read many of the reviews to discover the true story line.I agree with some of the reviewer's that it did drag and for that I give 4 stars. But, I enjoyed the character's so much especially Loki that it earned 5 stars. This couple are apart more than they are together, but when they are together it was magic. There is a lot of physical and mental abuse and you can almost figure out why her father hated her. SPOILER -----I thought she should have been angrier when she discovers information about her parents - END OF SPOILER!!The lovemaking was mildly described not vulgar. It was passionate for me because I really felt a connection to the H/h. I do believe in love at first sight and it seemed spot on to me.The character of Loki was amazing. He had much spunk, love and humor to the story and I really enjoyed the ending the Grants gave Loki, brought a huge smile to my face.There isn't a cliffhanger to this story for our main character's, but we are left wondering what happened to the middle brother Robbie, and I will be reading that next.This story is about abuse, but also much love, forgiveness has a lot of suspense, twists, and I enjoyed their journey to HEA that was filled with all kinds of bumps in the road, but much love too. You do not need to read the previous books to understand this one, but it will make the character's from those books have extra meaning in this one. (ljb) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Good addition to the series *by I***S on Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2016* I did enjoy the book, I learned a lot about Scottish history while reading the book because I have a habit of going to Wikipedia and looking things up, I even found that something I looked up involved my ancestors.Laird Alex Grant takes his brother Brodie among others with him when he is summoned by King Alexander III to discuss the defense of Scotland against the invasion of King Haakon of Norway.
