## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A must read for military historians

*by T***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 November 2016*

This is not a recent book and I should have read it many years ago. The research into this dreadful period in our history is quite substantial and very detailed. Nevertheless the narrative flows easily and it is a pleasure to read. Highly recommended for those who are prepared to understand the circumstances that led to this betrayal.

A stunning story of betrayal and appeasement by western democracies ...

*by H***A on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 August 2015*

A stunning story of betrayal and appeasement by western democracies and a lesson that should never be forgotten. Micolai Tolstoy's analisis of Western and Sovjet dicisionmaking is blilliant. Often foreign offices of Western countries are favoring appeasement today as well. There is only one unanswered question, is there a link with Stalins decision to throw Subhas Chandra Bose in the Gulag?
