Powerful, works well
Great mixer, powerful. I didn't experience the too fast start some people said they did. It mixes well and I like the tool storage box that the mixer sits on. Much better than my prior mixer.

So sturdy....
We're very happy with this mixer. It's very powerful and makes quick work of kitchen tasks. Easy clean up and great storage with the connecting container. Looks great, too!!

This is a great mixer and looks elegant too!
I love Cuisinart and this mixer is one of my favorite small appliances. It has many speeds so works great for making all kinds of dishes!

Very good but flawed mixer
High-quality mixer with a nice variety of attachments, and the storage container is handy and attractively designed. But as other reviewers mentioned, the mixer is disconcertingly loud—more and more so as you increase the speed—and when you first turn it on, the beaters spin very fast for a second, before settling into the initial "1" mode (I've learned not to place the beaters in a bowl with ingredients such as flour or a liquid until the mixer slows down into that 1 setting).

Second one after 9 years.
We purchased one of these mixers in in brushed silver/chrome on April 24th, 2016, ($79.99 then) and it has always worked perfectly. It is used for cakes, cookies, breads, potatoes, etc - usually once or twice a week. It never had a problem until recently, when the plastic push button on the top cracked into 3 sections and dropped inside the case. I also noted the cord is worn, with the outer plastic covering coming off the wiring at the base of the mixer. So figured it is time for a new one. Since color didn't matter, we opted for one in white at $59, vs $99 for another brushed silver/chrome model. ($20 price increase in 9 years). While waiting for the new one, I started thinking about possibly repairing the old one. The re-wiring wouldn't be a problem, but the button looked like a potential issue. An on line check found a video showing a reviewer taking the mixer apart for a comprehensive review of the components , and was very helpful. BUT, it described the electronic design and components as fairly cheap, with a number of shortcuts taken in motor and circuit design. Not very encouraging, but then, it had lasted 9 years, so I plunged ahead. Surprise! When I got my 9 year old mixer apart, everything was in the same place as the video of the newest version - same model number - but the old version components were much more robust, and had more elaborate circuit designs than the video of the newest version. In fact, all the concerns listed in the video review were completely absent in the old mixer. More sophisticated electronic circuitry design, apparently different motor, more robust appearing beater ejection mechanism, etc. It was so much more impressive than the video review of the latest version, that I resolved to keep the old one working, reserving the new one as a spare. (If in 9 years the contents had been cut so much while the price went up $20, a spare mixer at today's prices seems reasonable.) I haven't opened the new mixer to see if the insides match the video review of newer versions because of warranty concerns. Cuisinart REALLY doesn't want you inside. Four plastic plugs have to be drilled out to get to the assembly screws, making it obvious the mixer case has been "user opened". After blowing out all the flour and dry ingredients from inside the old mixer housing and gears, the rewiring was easy, and the swivel mechanism for the cord in both models is a very nice feature. The original instructions didn't describe the action of the cord mechanism. It will swivel freely unless you force it to click into a locked position at either the right or left side - handy! The button repair consisted of super gluing the 3 chunks back in place, wrapping the outside of the button with a thin layer of HVAC metal tape, and using either 2 part epoxy or a mix of super glue/styrofoam beading (youtube trick) in the void spaces on the back side of the button. Seems pretty strong, at least for now. Re-assembly was prolonged, as some of the wiring ribbon cable and the beater mechanism could only be re-assembled one way - with a circuit board going through a slit in the middle of the ribbon cable by the beater ejection mechanism! (If you ever do this disassembly, take pictures first!!) But eventually it was done, and has been happily mixing cookies and cakes to this date. If the button on the old mixer fails in the future, I might just swap in the button from the latest version (Identical case and controls on both versions). But if it fails electronically or mechanically, it is old enough that I will just use the new dumbed down version. The trend these days seems to be disposal after boredom or minor issues occur, in everything from cars and phones to jobs and relationships, and doesn't seem to be reversible, so....

A pleasant addition to our kitchen appliances!
I have been using this hand mixer for almost 2 years now. While I may not use it daily or even multiple times each week (depending on the week), I do seem to use it several times a month. I thus far I have not had any difficulties with it. The following are the things I really like about it: - The simple easy to use on/off and speed buttons being at the top - The 9 different speeds. I like how it starts at a slow speed to prevent splattering and the gradual ability to build up the speed. Which the higher up it goes, can be very aggressive. - The solid, non flimsy feeling I have when using it. It isn't heavy but yet isn't too lightweight either. For me it is just the right weight. - The motor has remained strong. I haven't experienced any lagging, whining noises, or the smell of the motor being overworked. The attachments have also always mixed at consistent speeds. - The swivel cord I really, really like! It allows me to position and maneuver the mixer however is most comfortable for me depending on what I am mixing. Plus overall the cord length is nice. - The latch release I greatly prefer. I feel safer having a button that I deliberately need to press to release the attachments. - I like the beaters and chef's whisk attachments. So far there has been no rusting of any of the attachments. - The storage area is nice. I like being able to store the cord and attachments all in one place. While it does still latch easily, I have noticed recently though that there are times when I pick it up by the mixer handle, the mixer comes up off the storage area instead of the whole unit coming together. This by no means is a deal breaker for me, I have just started to grab it by the storage case instead of by the mixer handle. The following are a few observations or things that could be improved: - The dough hooks seem to be most effective with cookie doughs and lighter bread mixes. - The recent inconsistent ability to be able to pick the entire unit up by just the mixer handle when attached to the storage area. As picking it up this way is a preference, however it is still very easy to pick the whole thing up by the storage area and this is like the only tiny pet peeve I have about this product. As I stated up above, this is in no way a deal breaker. Before we bought this, we thoroughly read many reviews and here are a few additional thoughts I have from using it these past 2 years. I in no way feel this mixer is dangerous or that I need to take any extraordinary precautions when using it. As with any appliance, you just have to be mindful of your surroundings and make safe choices. I know some have indicated that the attachments can fall out, I have only had this happen once and it was when I didn't put them into their matching openings. Another reviewer spoke to this and I want to reiterate, there are two different fitted holes for the attachments. Each hole looks slightly different, as do the tops of the attachments. If you correspond them appropriately, I have never had an attachment fall out. When I did make this mistake, the beaters fell out as soon as I pointed the mixer slightly downward, way before I turned it on and then I realized the mistake and just switched them. It was not a big deal at all and just reminded me that I need to be mindful about this before inserting them. Lastly, while getting everything into the storage container can be a little tight, once I figured out how to have everything organized so I could still close it, I've just continued putting everything in there that same way and have had no difficulties with making everything fit. Overall, I have really enjoyed this mixer and would absolutely buy it again!

Heavy duty Works great!
What an amazing blender. Everything stores in one container! After burning up 2 blenders before this, I love the quality it’s a good value for what you would have in replacing units. Mixes great smooth cakes. Love the sstainless finish xx

A big step up from my old tired hand mixer
I read several reviews for this mixer both good and bad but decided to order it anyway. I live in Canada and they don't carry this model here so I ordered it without being able to check it out. The storage case clips in and out without any problem but the cord takes up most of the room in the case so the accessories have to go somewhere else which is no big deal to me. The fast start and then slow down is not a problem, it is not any louder than any other mixer and it is not too heavy like I read in the reviews. It has plenty of power for cakes, cookies and muffins. I have not tried the dough hooks for bread yet but probably will be fine. I like the digital speed control with the up down buttons instead of the old slide switch. Although I haven't had it very long I can recommend this mixer to replace any old hand mixer you may be using. Time will tell how long it lasts but for now I really like this mixer with the storage case and stand. It came on time and nicely packaged by Amazon.

important info to know
I bought this for a gift to be used in the UK, and when my daughter went to use it it had a USA plug, she used an adapter and it blew up.
