Does this size work for people who sleep on their backs?

No, it's too bulky to use while sleeping on your back. I recently had a lower back injury and I tried sleeping with this lumbar cushion under my back. I tolerated it for a few seconds only, it's much too bulky for that purpose.

Would this fit in the box it came in to return it, or is it shrink wrapped and put into a smaller box?

Back Cushion Slips On my Chair

2 piece construction with cushion risks back cushion slippage in my swivel arm rest chair with no low back support. I will probably try a one piece unit next. Very comfortable with great support otherwise

Great lumbar support for recliner

Does exactly what it’s supposed to — solid lumbar support, genuinely comfortable, and it stays put without slipping off the chair. All good there. One minor issue: the cover developed a small tear along the seam after some use. I fixed it with fabric glue, which seems to have done the job. A small durability hiccup, but the cushion itself performs well.
