It may need to be left on a little longer than the recommended time to achieve a lighter blonde result (although everyone’s hair and skin are different). It took three applications to achieve a lighter blonde shade, so it does work, but it requires a little patience. I really wanted this to work because bleaching seemed way easier and less irritating than constantly waxing or shaving, but unfortunately this did absolutely nothing for my upper lip hair.I tried using it multiple different times thinking maybe I didn’t leave it on long enough the first time or maybe I mixed it wrong, but every single time my hair still looked just as dark afterwards. I honestly couldn’t even tell the smallest difference, which was really disappointing considering it’s literally marketed to lighten facial hair.Of course since it’s bleach, it did make my upper lip feel itchy and irritated while sitting on the skin, which I expected to some extent, but it was frustrating dealing with that just for it to not even work in the end.The instructions were easy enough to follow and the product itself was simple to apply, so I don’t think the issue was user error. It just personally did not work for my darker hair at all. Maybe it works better for lighter or thinner hair types, but for me it was a waste of time and I ended up going back to waxing and shaving instead.I wanted to leave an honest review because I know a lot of people buy products like this hoping for an easier solution, especially for darker facial hair.

I have always tended to be on the hairy side (I recall the kid who sat behind me in 5th grade mocking me because I had longish blonde hair on my lower back) but now I'm on hormone replacement that includes testosterone, and I would look like Wolfman Jack without constant intervention on my part. I have dark hair now on my thighs (front AND some on the back), stomach, chest and face. I tried several home waxing kits with poor results, and due to sheer volume, it would cost a small fortune to get it done professionally.This stuff has been a Godsend. One box covers all the areas I mentioned above. It lasts about 3 weeks for me. All the hairs come out blonde. It still feels gross to have hair in some of these areas but at least it's not visible to others after I use the bleach. I admit I dread when it's time to do it again, as it's uncomfortable, itchy and stingy, for 10 minutes that seems to last forever, but I think that's par for the course and don't think other brands would be any less uncomfortable. It also leaves white flakes on the rug when I walk to the bathroom to rinse it off (I do it in the living room sitting on a large towel on the couch in front of TV) so I have to vacuum after I use it, but it's a small price to pay for not looking like a circus sideshow attraction. I don't have any problems using it on my face in terms of irritation.My only complaint is the little cup you measure it in. It has slightly raised clear measurement numbers on a clear cup. It is very hard for my 60 year old eyes to see how much I am measuring even with glasses. I wish the company would realize that a lot of older women get hairy and use products like this, and make the numbers more senior-friendly to see.

This product seems to be quite good on the first attempt. The vegan formula applied smoothly and worked well without irritating my skin. My main hope is that it will store well for future uses. Previous brands I've tried tend to clump up badly inside the container over time once opened. So far, so good, and it leaves hair nicely bleached.

Worked great! Definitely keep it on a little longer than what the directions say… be cautious that is does almost burn off hair in some places.

I’ve used this product before and was disappointed with the recent update. The previous version included a small bottle/pre-conditioner step to help prep skin beforehand, but that’s been removed from the new formula. The new formula itself also doesn’t perform as well as the original.That said, the applicator is actually easier to use this time around. Overall though, if you’ve used the original version, be aware this isn’t quite the same product. It’s a step down despite the improved applicator.
