Truly exceptional stuff! I have literally used every single reputable pomade Amazon has to offer(a lot) and hands down this is the best. Perfect level of shine, incredible scent, and the ingredients are actually good for your hair and scalp, this does awesome stuff for your hair. The hold really is what it's supposed to be. This will convert any other chemical based product user into a traditional genuine oil-based user pomade user every time. Don't wash it out , just rinse with warm water and reapply. It's not just my hair type either. My two best buds who both have very different hair than I have LOVED it too.

I ordered this pomade twice - once about a year ago and again last week when I was close to running out. I really loved the scent, texture and hold the first time and was happy to pay $2 more for a product I knew and loved.This morning I began opened up the new product to begin using it and was horribly disappointed. First, I noticed that top layer of the pomade was hard and crusted, and I could barely get any out of the jar. What I was able to get out I rubbed between my hands, only to the find that the smell was pungent and chemical-like, not at all like the pleasant bay rum scent of the first jar. Confused, I closely compared the jars to see if I had mistakenly ordered the wrong product. They both were labelled O'Douds Original, but the more recently ordered jar had a label that was faded and worn, presumably by age. Furthermore, the jars and lids had slightly different shapes, and I noticed that the rim of the more recently ordered jar seemed to have cracks and loose glass stuck in old, crusted pomade around the rim.I suspect that what happened is when I ordered the product they found an ancient jar that had been sitting around in a warehouse for several years, and didn't bother to consider that the product can go bad with age or that the manufacturer had changed its formula and packaging over time. But now I don't feel comfortable taking my chances ordering from Amazon again only to receive the same terrible quality product.

Another hair product that I just had to try. I am sure this works for many, but not for me. The product is extremely thick and immediately flattened my hair and just sat there. I tried heating it, etc., but still the same. It is definitely designed for "hold" but if your hair has any texture, this will remove it and basically a flat pancake on your head. The smell is not obnoxious, but the camphor like smell is like grannies arthritis rub. I'm not walking around with that small wafting from my head. Bad purchase. My search continues.

I didn't like this product as much as O'Douds water based equivalant. For the most part, they give you the same look and hold. This one is a little bit shinier and smells worse though. It also tended to give me an itchy scalp, and some dandruff. The water based product doesn't have the same effect on me.

The scent of the pomade is rather strong, it has this earthy and nutmeg tone to it. It is quite strong and easy to mold your hair even after hours after application. I use this to style my pompadour but would recommend something a bit stronger if you want to go for long hours into the day. Overall, this product holds my hair fine. Remember to remove the pomade after applying with a dry towel as water and soap don't completely get it off. A dry towel removes it easier.

Really a wonderful product! First off, being a guy and finding a proper hair styling product isn't easy, and coming from a Cosmetology and modeling family I've worked with numerous amounts of products depending on my current hair type, style, hold, and texture needed for that day. Functionally, this product is what a original hold type should be. Holds the style in which is desired throughout the day, but doesn't create a hold so hard that you can't run your hands threw your hair. Aroma, this product is lovely, has a very distinct smell that I have not found before, not to over powering, but enough to be noticeable for several hours afterward. Being that this a oil based product, many people find similar products hard to wash out, THIS IS NOT THE CASE for this one. It provides the hold and feel expected in a oil based pomade, but the washable ability of a water based pomade. Finally, I would say it is a nice medium shine that provides the appearance of healthy well nourished hair.

I've been using O'Douds Standard and Multi-purpose pomade for a while, but I decided I wanted to try something new with this. I have fairly long and fine hair on top, and I think this makes my hair look good, but it doesn't have as much hold as the standard and maybe even the multi-purpose. With long hair it really doesn't hold it in place, but I still think it looks good so I guess I'll use it when I want a more loose, rocker kind of look. The other thing is it's very hard to wash out -- I can shampoo my hair three times and it still doesn't feel like it's completely gone. I guess I don't understand how people use oil-based pomade every day, because I can't imagine not washing my hair every day. Still, I like the product and O'Douds makes great products in general.

awesome product for the hair. all natural product with a great classic finish. best pomade in the market for me. n trust me i know pomades. Just great stuff
