Very compact; performs better than many bigger/costlier radios
The Prunus DE-333 is among the smallest pocket radios you can get, with a width of only 2 inches and a height of 3-1/2 inches. And, it only costs about what you'd pay for a fast food combo meal. But it delivers excellent reception, especially on FM, along with good sound and a DSP (digital signal processing) chip that makes it easy to achieve perfect tuning even of weaker and more distant stations. After receiving this radio I opened up the battery compartment and put in two AAA batteries. The radio happened already to be turned on, and it came to life with an FM station from about 60 mi away. Finding it surprising that I received this station so easily, I tried a couple of hard-to-receive stations as a test, and this little radio pulled in both of them. Admittedly you do have to tune very slowly to get weaker stations that are right between stronger ones because the tuning thumbwheel is small and it's easy to skim right past them. But if you're patient and move your finger slowly, those weak "in between" stations are there. AM reception isn't quite as good as FM, which you expect because the internal AM antenna in a radio this size has to be tiny. Still, you do get local and regional stations strongly, and at night many distant ones come in, too. This radio has a DSP chip that makes it easier to tune precisely. Unlike a radio with conventional circuitry, a DSP radio will usually move directly to the center of the signal when you reach a station. So, there's rarely a need to do any sort of fine-tuning. Once you can hear the station, it's perfectly tuned in. The sound is crisp and clear. News and talk shows sound very good. Even music sounds surprisingly decent given the size of this radio and its speaker. The audio gets quite loud, as well - and you can turn it up full blast without distortion. So, there's plenty of audio power to let you listen to this radio outdoors or in environments such as factories or other noisy workplaces where you might have to turn it up to hear it over background noise. Along with the radio you get a nice protective carrying bag with a drawstring closure. It's big enough to carry a couple of extra AAA batteries alongside the radio itself. The carrying bag adds an extra touch of class to a well-assembled, impressively compact radio that already distinguishes itself with competent reception and pleasant sound.

Excellent reception and sound quality
After reading reviews I was on the fence about buying this radio. We wanted a new radio to take to baseball games so we could listen to the radio broadcast during the game. I decided to buy this, and I'm glad that I did!!! It is an amazing little radio!!! The reception is great, sound qualuty is excellent, it's nearly weightless, and the size is perfect too!!! Best little radio we've ever had.

By far the best radio for sports, news, talk radio regardless of price
Got this radio when the first one I bought (same radio) started fading out at random times. Turns out the radio station was moving its transmitter which created the problem. Now I have two of these radios both of which work perfectly. I tried a lot of much more expensive radios ($50 to $90) and none of them performed well. Decided to try cheap. The $12.99 radios perform the best by far. The radio holds the station with never an adjustment - much better than the expensive ones. Also, they are very small and lightweight so they can easily be carried in a shirt pocket while doing yard work or moved from the coffee table to the patio table. Great for sports, news, or talk radio. Clear, distinct sound for those purposes. By far the best I have found. Compared to other radios, the two required AAA batteries have an acceptable life.

Great for such a small radio
Update 2 (9/30/23): I bought a second one since they were on sale and had a coupon for an additional discount so less than $13. I thought it would be fun to try some AM DXing with this tiny radio at night. I was surprised to get distant 50kW stations including one just over 600 miles away when measured in a straight line from my house to the transmission tower on Google Maps. It was a good night for DXing with my best radio getting a station about 1000 miles away but I was totally impressed since the AM antenna inside this radio has to be very short. I just used the radio's internal antenna, no external loop antenna. I noticed the included ear buds are different than the original radio though I don't use them so can't vouch for the quality. Update (9/15/23): I ended up putting this radio in my car center console for emergency use. One day when I was waiting for my wife, I brought it out and used it while waiting. I noticed it has a problem common with small radios. As long as I held it, it got good FM reception but as soon as I set it down, it lost the station. I'm leaving it at 5 stars because I still think it's the best radio of this size you can buy. It's five stars compared to similar sized radios, not compared to larger ones. Original review: I bought the Prunus J-777 after watching Todderbert's review and recommendation on YouTube and it didn't disappoint. The speaker is great for such a small radio. It doesn't sound tinny or flat. The reception is also great considering its size and short FM antenna. I picked up most FM stations within 60 miles and AM stations at night out to about 700 miles. The distant ones were clear channel stations. The dial is small so you have to go very slowly and sometimes backtrack to find some stations, but that's to be expected with a radio this small. It's a radio you can take anywhere and get good reception or use as a back-up to your main radio. Overall it's outstanding for its size and I recommend it.

Much better than expected.
I have now 4 other models of this brand and am quite satisfied by each. Surprised to say that given where these are made, but they've earned my loyalty. Bought this one for my bug-out bag and it is small, light and works well. I wanted something to tune in the news and weather for when the cell system goes down. And this will do. I may get another. As I said, I expected less, but Can recommend.

Small and powerful.
I received this today. Great stereo sound. Small for a pocket and good choice for runs and walks. Another radio did not have stereo earbuds - so needed. This is a new brand to me. I am happy with its design and color.

Good sound for such a tiny radio
Impressed by sound quality on FM on this radio. Bought to keep in my potting shed - just right for listening to Gardeners Question Time! Very tiny radio. Cannot stand on it's own. Either prop it up, lay it down, or like I did, fix it to shelf suffort with rubber bands. Not pretty but effective. Haven't had it long enough to comment on battery life. Very easy to use - three dials/switches. One for channel, one for volume, one for on/off/FM/AM. I found it works fine with the aerial up, not so good with it down. Great little radio.
