Graphic Design: A Beginners Guide To Mastering The Art Of Graphic Design

I have a great interest in graphic designing and this book is very handful in exploring one. This book look over the beginning of graphic design in the market. The book also tackles on the business context of graphic design but most of is the artistic nature of it. This job requires hard and intelligent work, patience in its craft, strong motivation, dedication, perseverance, and versatility. One must also love the new technology, software, and computers. Truly very insightful especially for beginners and freelancers.

Having hire graphic designers before, I realized that I needed to communicate to them in a clearer way. This primer helped me to do that by giving me a clear understanding of the elements of design, as well as the emotional impact of design. It could have benefited from some illustrations, yet the author has done a great job showing how ideas can be powerfully communicated with design....Also solid tips for those entering the field.

I returned it. I though it was going to be a thick book with everything I would need to know to begin my graphic design courses and a lot of help, but it is really thin and the print is GIANT as though it was written for a child. There are no photos or 'How To' graphs or lists. It just wasn't worth the money.

This wasn't a bad book it was just missing one thing to make it great book on graphic art. Examples!! It's one thing to read about line, form, space, and color in graphic design. It's another completely different thing and more useful to show someone who is beginning graphic design by showing examples so the person can get a clearer picture of the meaning behind the words.

I am a newbie with graphic design. I want to check out this book to learn more information about graphic designing. From this book, I have learned the different types of graphic design. I have also learned the advantages and disadvantages of becoming a graphic designer. The book also taught me about the different tools that I can use in designing. The book also mentioned about the known graphic designers. I am a fan of Alan Fletcher. I really like his designs. Also, I agree with what the author said in his book that the more you learn and practice, the better you become. Kudos to her!

This may be ok for someone who has never read anything on graphic design & has zero background, but there's not a lot of info here, & I think there are likely better books out there for someone looking to learn about the field. You will certainly not be guided in "mastering the field" as the title suggests.

An short introduction to the basic components of graphic design for younger people and others with no arts background. Well done.

This book is horrid. This is definitely not for anyone wanting to learn graphic design despite the subtitle of "The Ultimate Beginners Guide to Mastering the Art of Graphic Design." The author is definitely not a qualified writer and quite possibly not a qualified graphic designer. Run on sentences and random commas permeate this already poorly written book. Multiple times quotes and figures are listed without proper citation and even then they are misquoted. Please save yourself some money and do not buy this book.

This could very well be a great guide to graphics design, but I have no idea because I couldn't get beyond the first two pages. This book is littered with grammatical errors and really could have done with a professional proofreader! If you're the kind of person (like myself) who is a bit OCD when it comes to the correct use of "is" and "are", then DO avoid this book. I've rated it two stars as it would be unfair to give it a 1-star rating based solely on grammar, and yet I can't bring myself to give it a fairer 3 stars. I will be returning this book as soon as possible!

This book is the worst I've bought since long time on amazon. Although the table of contents is attractive, there is no value behind just like a not professional blogs collection even with no page numbers and very big font size.Ms. Jennifer Inston you kept telling in the book about demanding high profit and gaining a lot of money, my professional advice here is to do that but without a fraud and I want my money back!!

Rather disappointing. Large print and simplicity make it appear like a children's book. Bought for my niece who is doing a graphics degree!

Just what I needed

This book isn't described as it comes. The book wasn't of any use at all. It's in large font and black and white. The book is tiny and doesn't actually touch the topic it is meant to be about!
