Smooth riding on bumpy roads
I am impressed! I just fitted my new Redshift suspension seat post and took a test ride on London’s bumpy roads and streets. The absorption of uneven ground is magical! It was not easy to install; I have to blame my saddle, not the Redshift seat post. The fitting and adjusting options are great, the cost is high, but it is worth the investment.

Superb
Having read a number of reviews of the Redshift Endurance Seatpost (and having tried telescopic seatposts), with reviewers noting how it greatly improves the comfort of riding, I was persuaded to buy one. All these claims of comfort are fully justified: this seatpost really is excellent. Initially, I bought one for an electric bike (30.9mm), which was such an improvement on the rigid post that I bought a second for a non-electric hybrid bike (27.2mm). As many others have observed, the seatpost smooths the ride over bumps to the extent that they become simply undulations and not a bone-jarring experience. There are a range of rider weight-related settings, adjustable for comfort, helpfully listed (as a starting point for fine-tuning) in the seatpost's instructions. In terms of softness, the aim is to ensure there is no excessive 'bottom-out' when riding over uneven roads/tracks. The settings I've used are based on my weight with the rucksack (toolkit; spare inner tubes; etc.) I carry on all my rides: 84kg. 30.9mm seatpost setting: '4'; 27.2mm seatpost setting: '3.5'. Highly recommended.

Your bottom will thank you for it
A doddle to install if you know what you’re doing. Plenty of videos on YouTube so you can’t really go wrong. To be sure this isn’t a cheap piece of kit you’d be able to purchase with the loose change you’d find in the sofa but I use my bike to do grocery shopping or any commuting within a 10 mile radius as well as for leisure rides so there’s quite a bit of mileage in a week to justify its cost. Given the generally poor condition of the roads around here it does take its toll on my not so youthful mortal coil. Replacing the stock Specialized saddle with a Brooks saddle went some way towards alleviating the impact of riding over bad roads but the Redshift Stopshock suspension seatpost really makes that extra difference; so much so that I no longer need to go off saddle everytime I encounter uneven roads. I’m about 70kgs but I still installed both springs albeit with minimal preload (1.5) mainly because I’d only lose the inner spring if I didn’t install it in the seatpost. At this setting it felt firm but still provided sufficient dampening over rough ground. While it does take out the jarring impact of uneven terrain, you’d still feel the larger potholes although it’s not as bad before when I felt like I’d be thrown off the bike. I may play around with the settings to see what impact changing the preload or removing the inner spring would have. Is it worth the hefty price tag? If you do a lot of miles then I think it’s a good long term investment. Also, if you’ve got more than one bike, it’s not too much of a faff to swap it over either. I ride a hybrid bike and I’m not too fussed about the added weight of this seatpost over the original seatpost. I’ve got panniers on my bike for God’s sake. But if you’re one of those roadies who worry about every gram then maybe this isn’t for you. For me it’s enough of a game changer that I can contemplate longer rides without dreading the prospect of feeling like I’ve just spent a night in prison with Teabag from Prison Break.

Smooths out small bumps and helps a lot with bigger ones!
My road bike already had headset suspension for the bars which helps avoid numb hands, but with country roads around here being so damaged, I was looking the something to help soften the shocks at the back too… The Shockstop seatpost is clearly very well and thoughtfully engineered, and that’s clear both as you take it out of the box and if you watch the detailed and thorough installation video that Red Shift have put on YouTube. The most fiddly aspect of installation is probably swapping the saddle over from your old seatpost but it’s really not tricky at all. To get the best out of it, you need to adjust the ‘preload’ for the spring (or rather springs): too soft and you’ll bounce a little too much when pedalling hard. Too hard and you won’t get enough benefit for smaller bumps. This is adjusted by turning a large screw at the bottom of the Shockstop seatpost - you can use a small screwdriver or Allen key if it’s too stiff for your fingers. There’s a guide in the box for an initial setting according to weight, but it’s more of an art than a science and the right setting will also depend on what type of surfaces you mostly ride on and your posture on the bike. Heavier riders (myself included) will need to use both of the included springs to be able to set the correct preload. For me, it took another two tweaks after installation to find the perfect ‘Goldilocks’ preload for me and my bike. And the result is great! Before getting this, I would definitely think hard before doing all but the smallest rides without padded bike gear, but this honestly adds enough comfort for trips to the shops or pub in normal clothes without your bum complaining. ;) It’s not a miracle cure for bad roads, but it makes a bigger difference than I would have expected and for me at least - who rides for fun and exercise rather than racing - it’s well worth the extra weight for the massive boost in comfort especially over longer rural rides.

Game changer
Bought this for my gravel bike, along with their matching stem. Have to say these products are a game changer. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is there is an audible clicking when the seatpost moves. I've dialled up the preload to reduce travel, maybe it's this. Sounds like it needs some lube but instructions say DO NOT lube. Maybe it just needs bedding in?

Redshift endurance
I considered buying a seatpost for a long time, considering the relatively high price of the Redshifts Endurance, but I finally decided. My first impressions are positive. I like that it's not as bulky as other manufacturers. I also rate the build quality as high. I can't comment on durability because it's a recent purchase, but other owners rate it as good, so time will tell.

Expensive? YES, worth it? read on....
Even at my advanced age I still enjoy cycling. However, I also have a bad back which is often jarred during a ride, due to the appallingly poor state of the road surfaces everywhere. When this happens it can really spoil my day! So I started to look into suspension seat posts. I researched virtually all types, read up on specs. and watched several YouTube videos. I also read many customer reviews. Clearly there is a wide range of designs and PRICES. I was immediately drawn to the REDSHIFT ShockStop Suspension Seatpost, because of its design and function, as well as the fact that it is so discreet (could be mistaken for a conventional seat post really). So I took the plunge and bought it. Once I had unpacked it from its smart, red box and held it in my hand, it became clear that it was a beautifully designed and constructed piece of equipment. I followed the easy instructions and added the additional spring, then dialled in the appropriate setting for my weight. The only slightly fiddly bit was attaching my saddle! A test ride followed and within the first couple of miles I realised that this was money well spent. IT WORKS! I found myself deliberately riding over the roughest surfaces, to put the seat post through its paces. Absolutely brilliant. Very, very comfortable. WELL WORTH IT.

Very Comfortable
I am in my 70s and ride a bike every morning, about a year ago I bought an electric assist bike. Whilst it has front suspension, I was used to riding full suspension mountain bikes and as with most electric bikes, because of the weight of the batteries, the bike is heavy so you can get a lot of hard impacts as you ride from the rear. I bought this Redshift suspension seat post and am delighted because after playing around with the settings until I got the right fit, it has really improved my ride a great deal.

Superb!
I used to use a Thudbuster and loved it for 20 years. Then my mountain bike frame cracked and I moved to a full carbon gravel bike. Recently some cretin stole that bike so I bought an aluminum city bike. I used to own aluminum but forgot how unforgiving the material is until I took this one out on the streets of Tokyo and felt all the chatter and bumps through me. So I decided to invest in this product and I could not be happier! It was super easy to install, it already came preloaded perfectly for my weight and slid into the seat tube smoothly. The saddle bindings are unique and we’re not at all difficult to adjust, making getting the saddle angle just right, a snap. Suddenly I feel like I have rear suspension again! The road chatter is gone and the bumps and divots smooth right out. I look forward to many years of riding with this product. The team in the US was great, very helpful, responsive and a pleasure to work with. They answered all my questions and more so I am very happy with the service as well. Thank you Team Redshift Sports!

Great design
This is my 3rd order from RedShift Seatpost Suspension. Did ride with the first purchase for more then 1500Km and still keep goin without any issue. You can read more review from internet but here are my personal views base on my own experience without bias. Advantage: 1) Enhance your riding experience. The suspension will soak all the small bumps and small vibration from your rear tyre. 2) You will clock in more mileage due to induce fatigue. 3) If you have any back pain issue and wanted to ride, this seatpost for you. 4) Zero maintenance. 5) Every single ride will make a big smile on your face. Disadvantage: 1) Weight penalty, add more weight to your bike, around 415g for 350mm & 380g for 280mm.(Specs taken from Redshift website) 2) Pedal bob effect reduced your power transfer. 3) For adjustment, you need to removed the seatpost. 4) Design only for circular seatpost and not for aero seatpost design. 3) Expensive for single component. Hope this will help you guys for the purchase.
