Especially when your child has chubby stubborn feet that refuse to fit in most “normal/average” baby shoes. The Velcro allows for you to be able to get some growing time out of your purchase. The material is breathable. We’ve taken them in the water at the beach, to many parks, out splashing in mud puddles, and I’ve drenched them in a chlorine filled pool. They are resilient; My son grows out of these size-wise before they start showing any major signs of wear.I have bought 5 pairs for my son, and three as gifts! Don’t hesitate. Do it. ### ⭐⭐ Don't stretch and not for chunky feet *by L***N on Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2017* The shoes don't stretch! Keep that in mind if you order these for a toddler with chunky wide feet. They won't fit. My son wears a size 5 wide stride rite and I ordered these in 5.5 and I was unable to even get the shoe on his foot. Additionally, the length of the shoe compared to the bottom of his foot was just long enough - so if I did get the shoe on it would have been very tight in length. The strap across the shoe is deceiving as it makes you think the shoe is adjustable but it is not. Otherwise, the shoe seems to be nice but won't work for my son's foot. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Lightweight but velcro is not good *by A***X on Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2020* I bought 4 pairs for my twins because they were lightweight and seems comfortable for them. They could wear them for awhile without it getting snug. However, just after a few months, the velcro just stopped sticking. No matter how much we cleaned out things that get stuck, it eventually wouldn't close. Although the shoes didn't fall apart, we couldn't use them anymore for that reason.
