A "Must Have" on Your Rides!
Initial review: I bought this after not having a way to check my tire pressure on the road after changing a flat, inadvertantly overinflating my tire and suffering a sidewall blowout a few miles from home - not fun at all! So I just received this and tried it out on a spare wheelset in the garage (last place you want to try any new product out for the first time is while you're changing a flat on a rainy day!). Product feels well manufactured sturdy. It is lightweight enough to go into a jersey pocket and forgetting it is there as well as being small enough to fit into even my tiniest saddle bag with a spare tube, CO2 canister, two levers and a multi-tool. It works well with Presta valves and the pressure readings are accurate enough to get you where you need to be after changing a flat in 10 PSI increments. Any finer increments and you'll have to guesstimate it. The release valve works better than expected to help you dial your pressure into an acceptable range. As long as you follow the instructions that came with the product and in the email from the company I received on the day the product was delivered (nice touch, btw), you shouldn't have any problems with loss of air when using the product in the real world. Time will tell if this product continues to work as advertised, but as of now I am pleased with the product and won't go on a ride without it.

Very Disappointed ...
• Difficult to read, as it only displays the pressure reading while the gauge is connected to valve stem. Remove the gauge and the reading goes away -not to mention the indicator is hard to see from a distance.• The indicator (internal slide) on my unit would not operate smoothly nor indicate consistently – appeared to stick as it slowly showed varying pressures.• When experiencing difficulties, I was careful to follow Pro Tool’s Website FAQs which recommended “If using a Presta tube, please ensure that valve is fully open, then screw the gauge head DEEPLY onto the tyre valve.” This resulted in (unintentionally) removing the now distorted valve core, which was hopelessly lodged in the tool’s head - see pics.

Well made, but not what I was hoping for
Well made; feels solid. The pop-out gauge is quite short, and therefore cannot very precise--a couple of pounds of pressure does not visually change the bar position significantly. There also appears to be enough friction that the pop-out gauge does not always accurately reflect the new pressure after bleeding off some air. On top of that, the markings are just tiny--hard for middle-aged eyes to read. The schroeder valve attachment works really well--the connection to the valve screws on and seals before any air is released, meaning almost no air is lost in the process. The presta attachment works "fine"--it just presses on--but it loses a little air as you fiddle with positioning the gauge. Unfortunately, for me, I'm more interested in the presta attachment. The difficulty in reading the gauge, the friction of the pop-out piece, and the air loss means it's easy to overshoot the mark when dropping pressure. I have since bought a mini pump from Pro Bike Tool that has a built-in gauge--I'm hoping it will end up being a better alternative. This little guy just doesn't quite cut it for me.

Great for carrying on the bike
The small size and light weight (1 ounce!) makes this perfect for bringing on a day ride or a multi-day tour. The small size and close spacing of the pressure readings means it doesn't read as precisely as a large dial gauge, but being precise to within a couple psi isn't that important especially since this will be used mostly out on the road for pumping after a flat or on a long tour. A digital gauge is tempting for a tour, but takes up more space. I found that it reads a few psi low, but knowing that I can easily compensate. The fitting is reversible for Presta or Schrader. I found that with the Presta tubes I use that I had to screw the fitting on to get the gauge on far enough to open the valve, but that's ok. It doesn't leak any air that way, and it gives you a chance to move the wheel around so you can read the tiny lines properly before unscrewing and removing the gauge.

Light, well made, excellent seal on both Presta and Shrader.
Light, well made, excellent seal on both Presta and Shrader. I took a chance on this because I like other PBT items I've used. Because of the screw-on, I wondered if it would lose air going on/off. It doesn't. I also wondered if the straight (instead of angled) check would be hard or awkward to attach to the valve. It was easy. I also wondered if the button to release air would lose too much air to be useful. It's smooth and usable. The gauge is a little hard to read, as others have mentioned.

Poor design
I can't believe how many different tire gauge choices there are out there. I had hopes this would be "the one" because of its compact size, its ability to read up to 120psi, and not requiring a battery, but I was disappointed. This is solidly built, but poorly designed. It is difficult to attach to the valve stem without losing some air, and I HATE that the reading snaps back to 0 after you remove it. It can be awkward having to get closer in order to read it while still on the valve stem. Also, the short throw of the pop-out piece makes the pressure reading be too vague. I should have looked at the picture closer - it's about an 1/8" increment that measures each 20 lbs. of pressure - much too small, especially given the overall length of the gauge. I see no reason that the pop-out piece couldn't be physically twice as long. As a result, there's probably at least a 10% margin of error, which is not acceptable to me.Finally, the air release button is worthless. It potentially can do more harm than good by releasing some air accidentally by pressing it while thinking it's a reset button. It's easy enough to release air manually on either a Presta or Schrader valve without having to attach any type of tool.I returned it, and bought a Planet Bike Dial Gauge Analog Bicycle Tire Gauge, which is superior in every category (and costs less!) except it is a tiny bit bulkier and heavier than this Pro Bike Tool gauge. On a positive note, I also bought a Mini Bike Pump by Pro Bike Tool and have found that to be a well made, compact item to stash in my saddle bag.

Bueno y ligero

High quality, really useful tool that is small enough to carry with you everyday. Highly recommended.
As soon as you take this tool out of its rigid plastic packaging, you realise you have purchased a quality tool. The reversible pressure guage that screws on and off for the use of Presta or Schrader valves is a stroke of genius. The red guage that pops out when the tool is under pressure is clear and precise. It is light weight and small enough to carry with you every day. All in all a great piece of kit that is well worth the purchase price. I have purchased a number of tools from Pro Bike Tool, and I have to say they have all been of extremely high quality. I'll definitely be using them again.
