Updated - great concept but unreliable product
When I use this regularly I don't have to take decongestant or antihistamine as often, if at all. Takes a few days to really start feeling the lasting effects, but you can unstuff your nose instantly. My husband refuses to try it because he does not like things going up his nose, so he is still suffering with congestion and sneezing while I am feeling much better. To me, it is about as unpleasant as getting water up your nose at the swimming pool, and you get used to it quickly.Don't try to use with plain water, as it burns like acid without the salt solution. Also, always use distilled or previously boiled water - I have read horror stories of people getting nasty, even deadly, infections from using tap water (OK to drink but if you shove it up into your sinuses any bacteria can just go to town).****UPDATED***** I bought this to replace one I had from a couple of years ago. I pulled it out from under the counter and it did not work, even after changing the batteries. I chalked it up to water getting into the battery compartment (hard to avoid the way it's designed) and bought a new one.Well, as of this morning, the new one is ALSO not working. Very annoying. I guess I will get the sinus tip and use with a regular WaterPik machine - more expensive but at least I will be able to count on it working.

Useful product, works great.
This thing is life changing. Something about keeping my head upright and not having to use gravity the way a traditional nettipot works just changes the game for me. Super easy to use, clean, and store. I store the nasal tip and rubber tube in the blue cup when everything is dry to keep everything organized and together. Comes with a blue net bag as well for storage but I don’t use it. Saline packs that come with it are gentle. This is actually my second machine as my 1st one lasted years but eventually the blue cup cracked or had a leak which may have been my fault or just could have just been age. I don’t expect plastic parts (or anything really) to last forever. I feel like at twenty something dollars this machine is priced right & I wasn’t mad when I had to replace.

Great for travel
This is my third type of NeilMed irrigator (have purchased probably 10-15 over past 15 years). My favorite is the plug-in irrigator, but it is a big production and forget about trying to bring it if you need to travel. This product is a much better option in my opinion for traveling versus the bottle version (which is what I have been using). It is heavier and bulkier but it is also more effective and easier to clean/dry than the bottle. It is less substantial than the many irrigator machines I’ve had but not as basic as the bottle. I’ve only had it for a short time so I’m not able to speak to longevity.

Stops turning on after a few uses
This actually works amazing the first few times and then dies. I’ve changed batteries multiple times and it might work momentarily but then dies again right away. The worst part is this is the 3rd one I’ve bought in a matter of 6 weeks and all 3 died the same way. So it’s great while it works but it’s absolute junk that quits working after a few uses.

Amazing Customer Service
I just got this product and haven't even used it, so . . . why am I writing a review? Because I had trouble getting the battery compartment door open--it was very, very hard to move the release. I called customer service to see if I was missing something--I wasn't--but the thing that knocked me out was the friendly approach from customer service. They'd be happy to send me a new unit, no fuss or bother, if I'd send them the exact model number and a photo of the misbehaving battery door. No hoops to jump through, no paperwork. BUT I managed to get the release switch to work and finally got the battery door open. I think it will loosen up with use so I didn't need a replacement unit at all but I was so surprised at their excellent approach to customer service that I felt I should write a review. I'm sure the product will be great, as all other NeilMed devices I've used have been. That kind of customer service is unusual, and shows that they truly stand behind their products.
