The Sharpie S-Gel pens with purple ink are fantastic. The purple ink is rich and smooth without skipping or blotting, and it dries quickly enough to avoid smudges—even for left hand writers. The pen feels solid and comfortable in hand, making long writing sessions easy. The purple is rich and professional, not dull or washed out. If you want a gel pen that writes cleanly and looks great on the page, these are an easy win.

The Sharpie S-Gel pens have easily become my go-to everyday pen, whether it be for work or general life. I always have one or several on me at all times, next to my computer, in my car, in my backpack... let's just say everywhere. Which color? Pretty much yes... all of them. I have some pens that cost more than $200 with Montblanc Fine Liner inserts. I do love exceptionally great pens, but I fear losing them or having them stolen. This is where the Sharpie S-Gels come into my life. These pens have great longevity and rarely fail me through everyday use. The writing experience is very nice, decent grip hold, nice balance with the weight. The ink, regardless of the color, is vibrant and bold on pretty much any paper type. The stroke is crisp, bold, clear, quick to dry, and the colored (red/green/purple) catch the eye. Very rarely do I find the ink smears because it is quick to dry and rarely bleeds through or visible on typical paper. Cheap paper will surely show through but YMMV. Variety packs in stores typically have the standard Black, maybe with 1-2 Blue, 1 Red and maybe 1 Green. Rarely do you find a balance of colors and even rarer the Purple. I just went off and bought multiple 12-packs of Purple, Red, and Green. Highly recommended

Great pens

I am a total convert. LOVE. THESE. PENS! I’ve tossed out all other pens in the house. They write so smoothly and dry so quickly that there are no smears. There are no clumps (like a lot of other gel-ink pens) either. The pen is beautiful looking too — kind of fancy, even. My first package was black. Liked them so much, I bought the blue. Saw a multi-pack including red…bought that too. I was THRILLED to see red, green and purple available in addition to the usual blue/black! [When the price for the green-inked ones comes down and/or they’re more readily available, I will get those too!!] This purple ink is lovely. Dark enough to pass for blue or black at a glance, but definitely NOT. Although these are the same sized tips as my blue and black S-Gels, I find that they just don’t write as smoothly. Unfortunate. I will still happily use them…just not for lengthy writing. Update: agreeing with another reviewer that the ink color identifiers on these pens SUCK! There’s no way of knowing which color of ink you’re grabbing for until you can clearly see the colored band towards the BOTTOM half of the pen! Blue barrel is black ink; white is black (marked with silver); red is black; purple is black; black is blue;; light blue is black; army green is black, etc. Confusing. I mean, aesthetically, I suppose it makes them appear more high-end — to NOT have a bunch of mismatched colors on the pens. I simply gave up and stuck a leftover, discarded margin tab (from my Brother labeler) — in the corresponding ink color — by the shirt clip on top…just so I could see which ink color I was grabbing from my pen cup. A total P.I.T.A. if, like me, you enjoy these pens so much, you want them to write in every color!

I've used sharpie pens for years usually to mark notes on things where the ink has to last, it's kinda new that they're pushing their way into regular writing instruments. I like the color purple and if a pen is available in purple that's what i'll buy so I was excited when I saw these come in purple. I can't tell you yet how long one lasts yet. The biggest issue I have with pens that float around on my desk is that something invariably gets on the tip and makes them refuse to write, so far haven't had the issue with these. The ink is dark and blotproof, the tip is a smooth ballpoint and they are retractable with a clip should be perfect to keep in the purse and I would expect the ink to survive well stuck in a hot tool box etc. If you're picky about your pens these are made in a few sizes of tip .05/.07 seems to be my usual favorite for writing checks and general notes. I need a pen that will write on any old scrap of paper I put down and sometimes on weird stuff like thermal paper too, so far so good. I even tried it on a corner of a small plastic bag and it worked. That's a big one if you have a need to write on labels, this looks like it will do it well. I just hope when I get through this box that I'll still be able to find the purple color. Amazon has a large selection of this pen in color variety packs and I even saw a few different tip sizes as well.

Great product

Only pen I use now. I am a sever and this pen has never failed me. I’m also left handed and it doesn’t smudge on normal paper. It smudges a little on thermal paper but I feel that is expected.

Perfect pen serie! Use them a lot (teacher) and found it very confortable and last long. Be careful however if you just check the item title! These are GREEN pen, not purple!

These are seriously THE BEST pen for marking papers! Unfortunately the normal Officeworks does not sell the 12 pack of red pens so the only way I could get the equilavlent would be to acquire 24 black pens & 12 blue pens too!!! I mainly use the red & so it’s just not economically viable to do this. Sooooo thank goodness for Amazon’s amazing ability to have what we need 🙌
