Quality: The plate is high quality, with clean edges and precise dimensions.Functionality: As advertised, the product effectively reinforces the existing door set.After my wife's constant complaints, I purchased this item to prevent greasy fingerprints from accumulating on the door due to frequent entry and exit from the garage after working on projects. Now I can easily wipe off greasy marks and have a happy spouse.The installation required the mortising of the area behind the faceplate to ensure that the reinforcing plate sits flush with the door’s edge. Your installation may also require mortising the striker side of the jam.Tip: Remove the adhesive plastic coating from the plate after fitting and before final assembly.

Makes updating old mortise locksets a breeze.
I've used many of Prime-lines door products and they are all of great quality and serve a very good purpose. I renovate homes and I've used many of these specific lock and door reinforcers on old original solid wood doors that had the old style mortise locksets. These old doors have the holes in the wrong places and the mortise cutout along the edge always presents a problem. But just cutting a standard knob hole where you want it on the door and slapping one of these reinforcers on top is super easy and a cheap way to update and modernize the hardware. Will continue purchasing these as long as the quality and price remain in sync with what is being sold today.

Measure the hole first from edge to center and see if it is the right one!
It was to short did not reach the pad lock hole no good for me,measure from edge of door to center of hole does not measure the same at all sorry it stainless steel nice nothing els to say sorry
