You love your sports sandals, but they are sometimes too casual. And you rely on your leather loafer, but sometimes that seems too hot or formal. This is a perfect "meet in the middle" shoe. Super comfortable
They are pricey, but they fit like a cloud. If you have to be on your feet for a long period of time, these are the ones to get. Very well designed, and super comfortable. The only downside is that they don’t come in many colors. Was looking for some kind of a grey color. Am happy with the overall design.

Well made...
Ok so I thought I would take the plunge into some more high end sandals this summer especially after finding them for a great price (comparatively) here. I have been looking for something more comfortable and durable since being diagnosed with a morton's neuroma in one foot. Anyway, I like the build and feel of these. They are solid and the sole is quite rugged. Comfort is OK and they do seem to be molding to my feet fairly well, but they are are a bit heavy and I still have to give my feet a break at times. I've had them just a couple of weeks now so hopefully I'll have more to add later.Update: After wearing them nearly every day for a summer I still can hardly see any wear on them. they last very well. I am changing this to 5 stars.August 2018I have used these now every summer since I got them. At this point that is seven summers. They have been on beaches, long walks, even just around my yard for chores and barbecues. They have been hiking and shopping and have lasted so much longer than anything I could find before. I really have enjoyed them. Mine are just now starting to separate a little at the toe on one foot. It should be an easy fix, I hope so, because I will miss these. Everything else about these sandals is still solid and nearly as good as the day I got them. The tread, the leather (which I treat and clean regularly) and the buckles are all in great shape.

The Best Sandal
I've had my share of sandals... Berks, Tivas, Eccos... they're all good in their own right. I loved my Ecco Fisherman's Sandal the most, but when it came time to replace them, I couldn't find the same style anywhere. Then I found these. The price is high. I couldn't believe any shoe -- much less a sandal! -- was worth such a high price. After several months of research, I kept coming back to these. I decided to take the plunge.Boy, am I glad I did. These babies are amazing. Comfy, great arch support, nicely made. The perfect sandal... perhaps the best shoe I've ever had.Tell you what, go ahead and buy them. If you don't like them, return them. No biggie. But trust me, you'll want to keep them.

Expensive, but worth it. Probably.
These sandals cost nearly 3 times what I pay for my 'Reference' sandal (Ecco Coba), which I am was fairly happy with but would end up replacing each summer, as by the end they would feel "dead" to me.The leather on the sandals is nice looking and soft to the touch. The materials used for padding of the inside of the straps and heel (facing the foot) is very comfortable and almost luxurious feeling. The footbed is firm and comfortable, and require only a couple hours of wear to conform to your feet. The only cons that I can see at this point (besides the price):- The length of the footbed seems to be spot on to size, but the width may be wider than other sandals. A bit wider than my Ecco's which for me is a good thing.- I don't feel there is enough slack in the straps to get them as tight as I would like, and should the leather stretch a bit, they may become more loose fitting. But could also be the fact that my old sandals had three straps (one on heel as well) which allowed me to better customize the feel.TL;DR : Expensive, but probably worth it.END OF SEASON UPDATE:After wearing these for most of a full summer season, I eventually went back to wearing my Ecco's because in the end, are a good deal more comfortable than these. These do look nicer, and I'm sure will last a good long time - but just aren't as comfortable as a pair of $100-120 Ecco's.

Great sandals And all day comfortable
I first bought these 20 years ago due to a broken toe. I didn’t want to wear the boot the doctor gave me and he said these would work as well. They used to make the women’s version, for some reason they discontinued them. Fortunately, for me, the men’s size 6 works perfectly! I have not been able to find a sandal that I can comfortably wear with/without socks. True, they are not all that attractive but who cares they are sooo comfortable. Great to wear walking, shopping or any other activity. They are pricey and they are well worth the money.

You get what you pay for!
There are lower priced premium sandals out there (for example, Ecco and Teva, both of which I own or have owned), but for my troublesome, very narrow, flat feet, the Mephisto Shark Fit sandals are hands down the best I've owned. They provide all-day comfort, and unlike a few experiences I've had with Teva's, I don't get any blisters, even without socks on. The Mephisto's are exceptionally well made, and though they are costlier than even my favorite Ecco's, they're a much classier-looking sandal. A piece of advice: if you have very narrow feet like mine, buy one size smaller than your regular shoe size. The sandals will fit better and you won't be forced to pull the straps in as far as they'll go to get a snug and comfortable fit.

Worth every dollar!
I do not write many reviews, but I had to for these Sandals. This is my first pair of Mephisto shoes of any kind. I have for, knee and back issues. They are all better by quote a bit when I can wear these. I am beiginnig to wear to work and really do not care if anyone does not like them.....they are very expensive, the most I have ever paid for a sandal......but if they pst as long as other reviewers have said, they are worth every dollar! Love the feel of the insole, not too cushy.....but exactly the right amount of support. The straps are what seems the most different than most sandals, they are extremely comfortable and easy to put on and remove. I am sold on this brand and shoe.......and I have over 30 pairs of other shoes I could wear...
