The (Rubber) Mouse's Tale, with apologies to Lewis Carroll and others
I wish that I could say that the inspiration for getting this mouse came from the classic poem To A Mouse , by the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns, and more appropriately titled, "To a Mouse: On Turning Her Up In Her Nest With The Plough," but it was not. And apologies to the celebrated national poet of Scotland for even thinking that. It wasn't inspired by that noted example of emblematic verse that appears as "The Mouse's Tale" in the third chapter of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland , with it's waving lines that got shorter and shorter, resembling mouse tail verse. The creative stimulation was far more basic. My purchase of this so-called Realistic Full Size Rubber Mouse had its initial inspiration from a seemingly unrelated source in free Android app found here: ◆ NYC Health Ratings To better understand this, you may wish to right-click on the link to the app and see the image posted by the developer. The New York City Department of Health routinely pulls spot inspections for each of the city's 24,000 food establishments, and once in awhile the results can be surprising when a restaurant dives from an "A" rating to being closed for (you guessed it) rat and mouse infestations. A "wee, sleeket, cowrin, tim'rous beastie" (more apologies to poet Robbie Burns) is no friend of the health inspectors or restaurant owners. But onto this rubber mouse: it's realistic enough from a few feet away, with its beady little reddish eyes and perked up ears, that it has jolted more than one person when they see it. It often sits in a pocket of my camera bag, lurking there, waiting for the opportune moment to be brought out as a photo prop or on some other occasion where it can be creatively employed, with it's naturally twisted tail and all. This Realistic Full Size Rubber Mouse is a good one for whatever iniquitous prank the user may choose. It's good enough that I've purchased a second one here, and though there are some furry variations available if you look, from about +3 feet away, this one is realistic enough to do the job. 5/1/2013

It's decent
When I got this mouse, there was pink showing on the back, so they did a horrible job making it realistic. However it looks okay from afar.

3rd time buying
So this is a rubber rat and it's basically exactly as described. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I first ordered one for my son because he loves Harry Potter and it became "hard rubber Scabbers" (as opposed to the stuffed animal Scabbers). He managed to lose that one at a cafe in Spain. So I ordered two more. Noticed there was a distinct color variation between them - one was black and the other was more gray. No problem, the black one was perfect as a replacement and my son was happy hard rubber Scabbers had found his way back home to MN. That brings me to my most recent order. We're not sure if hard rubber Scabbers went on an adventure or if the dog ate him. No evidence was left to analyze. Unfortunately, rubber rats are more expensive when it's not Halloween season and I didn't want to spend the money for two so I just ordered one. Even though hard rubber Scabbers had been off adventuring and my son hadn't seen him for a little over a month, he immediately noticed a difference when Scabbers "returned." Not only was the color a lighter black, apparently his tail is different and so is the texture of the rat we received. I was able to quickly recover and say it must be hard rubber Scabbers' cousin. So now we have soft rubber Scabbers, the cousin of the still MIA hard rubber Scabbers. For the majority of people, this is a perfectly acceptable rubber rat. But if you're a parent and it becomes one of your child's favorite toys, make sure to order several so you have a backup that matches the original.

very bad not very useful
I bought it and thought that it was going to be very useful and realist as it said in the review. When I got it, I was very disappointed, it is real but it was not realist as a real mouse. It like a plastic or rubber mouse, not even worth scaring my friend with. But I tested it. It didn't work, they notice it when they saw it. I just toss it out afterward. Don't waste your money and time on it.

Prank Mouse
Comes as shown in picture. Looks like a real outdoor rodent. I think it would fool some people, but other people might hate it and think it is a piece of garbage. I think it is a pretty prank when people fall for it. Especially, Moms. A tip on how to prank is to go to a friends house, hide the mouse in the kitchen corner, than scream Ahhhh! or Ew! When your friends say what are you screaming about say: That Mouse!!!!! Maybe they will fall for it! worth 3 Bucks.
