If you have a computer chip in any important ID's or cards, these prevent a stranger with a small, unseen radio frequency reading device from stealing your information & possibly your identity.Excellent for travel, especially when you can't trust all the people around you & in very crowded places...including airports. We are very glad to have them. I don't keep all my credit cards in my wallet. I hide them around. So now each of my cards is hidden within its own protector. I had enough left over to protect the cards I keep at home. My guess as to where my information had been compromised is at a particular big box store where millions of card information had recently been compromised. To be on the safe side, I ordered these just to be sure. I was very optimistic after reading some reviews. The company I work for utilizes electronic key cards to open doors. After placing my card into the protective sleeve, I tried to open the door and nothing happened. I placed my card directly onto the card reader and nothing. Just to be certain that my card was functional, i removed it from the protective sleeve and then the door opened. I am a believer after this experience. The only thing wrong that I see is that they are a tad oversize. I have seen them where they are almost the same size as the card but this one is just a little bigger. Still fits into wallet though.
