excellent step into the tru nature of life
I loved this book and believe in the truth it is providing. I am comforted to know that we are all on a journey both shared and intensely personal. As a faithful Catholic, I find the lessons imparted to be consistent with my faith and a confirmation that God’s plan in in action.

It's a gotta read if you're at all questioning life after death.
Incredible book! It made me question a lot of things I'd believed before. Now I wonder if I'm going to end up as a goat herder in Pakistan or something! Anything's possible! I just wish I could remember my own past lives. How fascinating would that be?!

An interesting page turning book I could not put down once I started it. A great read.
As I get older I have become more interested in esoteric topics. Even though I am a scientific minded person I am fascinated by personal experiences involving unusual and more mystical topics. One of the things that attracted me to this 221 page soft cover book (Many lives many masters by Brian L. Weiss, M.D.) is that it involves a scientifically trained Psychiatrist. Even though he had many years’ experience dealing with people with all kinds of psychological issues this book focuses on a young 27 years old female patient whose experience under hypnosis revealed an amazing tale of numerous past lives. The Doctor, who as mentioned before, was scientifically trained and had simple answers to previous people he had treated for a wide variety of mental illnesses was at a loss to explain away Catherine’s past lives stories while under hypnosis. She came to see Dr. Weiss because of her anxiety, panic attacks and phobias. This book explores the numerous therapy sessions with Catherine. It became clear after a few sessions that the doctor’s standard psychotherapy approach was different with Catherine due to her past life experiences.During these numerous sessions Catherine kept revealing the many different past lives she had lived as both a man and a woman. The amazing detail Catherine related in these sessions so impressed Dr. Weiss that he could not easily dismiss them as some kind of fantasy. It was not only the past lives that intrigued the author, but during these hypnosis sessions Catherine also related meeting with masters between each of her past lives. As someone who has always rejected any and all forms of mysticism and pseudoscience I admit to being impressed with the experiences of this woman. I do not know whether the related experiences of this woman are true or fantasy, but this book certainly makes one think about the many mysteries not yet solved by science.I found this book a fascinating read.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Zen Poetry Moments: Haiku and Senryu for special occasions).

Good read
Very good book if you are starting on your spiritual path,it will be a good read. it’s intriguing, has a lot of good information, I’ve read in one afternoon and I’m a lazy reader. However there is something about how the story is told that gives me a feeling that a lot of what was written had some sort of ego driven translation of messages by a brain conditioned to religion, later on Dr. Weiss cites the kabalah which in my opinion is the message from spirit to highly religious individuals. There are some fear, hierarchy and some sort or punishment vibe the way the story is told, that I don’t think it translates the absolute love in the spirit world. Both of the Psychiatrist and patient were religious people I believe this is why a lot of messages probably got lost in translation thru their religious filter. Also I think he did not take proper care of Catherine because he was too fascinated with himself and messages that he tried to gather more information about his past lives and his loved ones than focus solely on his patient. Spirit needed him to stop being skeptical and help her using their guidance, that’s why they had to talk about his son but he understood it was about him, when it was just a synchronicity to wake him up. I also believed he had a pre conception of Catherine to be less intelligent therefore less worthy of the spiritual messages. This book is about his first time and contact with the spiritual world we understand and I hope he got better with time.

Wonderful book and story
It's been a while since I've had the chance to pick up a book since having a child. But as someone who has always feared death and wondered about afterlife I'm so very thankful I found this book. I have no question what waits for us on the other side and I suggest this book to people who might benefit from its read

Changed my Beliefs
To be honest, I never believed in reincarnation in my life. I have always been very closed-minded about it, and dismissed it every time it was brought up. Whenever people tried to talk to me about it, I just shut down my mind, believing it was ridiculous, and couldn't understand how anyone could believe in it.My wife convinced me to buy the book, but before we started reading it, I was very skeptical and didn't think it was going to be any good. I figured it was just another gimmick or hoax. However, once we started it, my mind began to open.In the first few chapters, I was still a little skeptical, but as we read the book, I started believing in reincarnation more and more. It just started to make sense, and now I really truly believe in reincarnation. And I want to try to figure out how to be a better person and fix my traumas/faults, so I don't have to carry them into my next life. The story is very well written, easy to read, and easy to understand. It is written like a novel, but the story is a true account detailing therapy sessions of Dr. Weiss and past lives lived by one of his patients. The more we read, the more I wanted to keep reading. This is a great book that I recommend everyone read, even if you are closed-minded like I was.Thank you for changing my mind and changing my life Dr. Weiss!

Fact-finding and Inquisitive
I read this book in one sitting last evening. By and large, Dr. Weiss's message through his book was the same that the sages like Yogananda, Swami Ram, and Mahavtaar Babaji have conveyed over time. Before I start with my review, I was amazed to see reviews from such a wide variety of readers. Of course, we all know - each human being is unique with variable mindsets, et. al. However, it did amuse me to see quite a few immature reviews, which lacked any perspective whatsoever on the subject and seemed to be coming from people who don't even know the ABC of the subject in hand.Dr. Weiss opens the book in simple language without using any medical jargons and continues the trend throughout the book, which a reader can be thankful for. One of the things that an average person fails to comprehend that the so-called "messages, wisdom, and realization" need not necessarily come to a priest, minister or any religious head. It is quite unfortunate to see that people who claim to have a scientific mindset observe and operate with such closed and shallow minds in their daily lives.Dr. Weiss quite emphatically suggests in his book that "True Science begins with observation". Every time someone hears about reincarnation, past lives, messages from beyond, and insights - an opinion is automatically formed that it is all "fiction".Although I agree that this book may not be the "best" starting point for someone seeking spiritual wisdom, but as many reviewers have claimed - not a single facet of the book seemed to be a made-up story. There would always be people who would have doubts over something that they haven't themselves experienced or seen. The important thing to remember is how we handle those "doubts". We can either brush them away as merely stories, or we may decide to perceive them with an open mind.Reincarnation, after-death processes and the truth behind souls - these are not religious myths or stories. These facts have been around for everyone to see and have been established and proven by Himalayan Masters like Lahiri Mahasaya, Sri Yukteswar Giri, and more recently, Paramahansa Yogananda.A good example that shows "closed-mindedness" of a reader can be derived from the Review written by a reader who talks about stop reading the book after Page 27 after the Author narrates the incident of 1863 BC. This shows how much that reader really knew about the concept of "Clinical Hypnosis".If you are always going to presume things and come to conclusion without any observation, fact-finding, basic knowledge, and willingness to learn & explore the subject - you will always end up assuming that what you're reading is not real - and you'll end up putting the book away.In the end, I found Dr. Weiss's book quite educational. In this world, there would always be skeptics. There would always be people who refuse to come out of the circles that have been drawn around them from the day they were born.Unless you are willing to take that first step to explore the unknown - you will be unable to see life beyond the daily nuances that surround you. So take the first step and keep an open mind. The realm around you does not need to know YOU. You need to know IT.

Life Changing...
Let's get one thing straight - I am not prone to follow every new wind of change or every new fad or path of "enlightenment", merely on a whim. I'm also not easily won over....This book changed my life. There is no other way for me to say it. As a standalone book it is intriguing, easy to read, gripping, and beyond interesting. As a self help book, something that I genuinely don't think was the author's intention, this book quickly became the book I was recommending to those closest to me.I was reading Memories Of Heaven by Dr Wayne W Dyer & Dee Garnes, and this book was referenced. That's how I "found" it. To be honest I think the book "found" me.If you are interested in Regression at all then this book is for you. If you have an open mind and you are intrigued by reincarnation then this book is for you. If you are considering trying a session of Regression Therapy then THIS BOOK IS DEFINITELY FOR YOU. I was so blessed by it, and gleaned some important information for my own life. It gave me an insight into the Therapy side of Regression and prepared me for my first session. Up until I read this book I was merely curious about past lives and the whole concept of reincarnation. After reading it I understood a lot more and was a lot more aware of the healing potential and spiritual benefits of Regression Therapy.I hope this review helps someone make their mind up either way. xx
