UPDATE: I still love e this product but not at the amazon price. Currently, as of 11/19/18, Amazon sells this for over $21.I just bought at Costco for jus over $7. Like others who have reviewed, I don't use baking mixes. In fact, we generally don't eat food processed outside of the home. But we were having a crowd for Thanksgiving in an offsite location, so I was looking for at least one easy addon dish. And this came highly recommended by a friend and I was impressed with the reviews.Let's just say that if you like a sweet, moist, corny corn bread, this is the ticket. Everyone loved it at Thanksgiving, and, because it was so moist, the leftovers were a perfect addition to casual brunch the next morning.Now the downside to this product is that it contains a lot of sugar, which is what adds to the taste and the moistness. So, I'd say this isn't your casual corn bread with chili, but rather cornbread for special occassions. Like chili for the basketball team...or Thanksgiving dinner.Easy, sweet, delicious.

I've always bought this mix at Costco, but it appears to only be carried during certain seasons. I came looking, and was pleasantly surprised to find it.This is, bar none, the BEST corn bread mix I've ever had. It is moist, slightly sweet, gets a great crust, and has bits of corn in it. I can't even say enough good things about it. Of course while I'm writing this I'm thinking I really should shut up and keep it to myself because if everyone buys it I won't be able to find it here, either! :)

I love corn bread so it would have to be real bad for me to leave a bad review., I put some extra corn from a can in when making it and it along with some sweet butter and it was even better

We too were introduced to Penguin Corn Bread at Costco which used to carry it seasonally in the fall. We are all cooks in our family but can't improve on the taste. This is the best, sweetest corn bread. We used to buy a number of boxes each year as it has a great shelf life and would last until Costco sold it again each fall. Were sure to serve it to friends and family. Our grandkids have been asking about it for the past year since Costco discontinued it and we are delighted to be able to get it through Amazon. Thanks for carrying it and making it a prime item.

We have previously purchased this product through Costco at a much lower price. When Costco did not stock this item, we purchased it via Amazon. Unfortunately the product did not live up to our prior purchases. The 'fresh corn' was hard as a rock when baked and absolutely inedible. We are very disappointed as we love this cornbread, but the packages received from this vendor, we below par. We will never order this again via Amazon at 3 times the Costco price.

This is the best cornbread mix I have found. I used to buy it at Costco, but I think that they stopped carrying it.I substituted creamed corn for the milk and made them into muffins in cupcake wrappers. I baked them for 20 minutes and them froze them on a cookie sheet until they were solid. I transferred them into ziplock in advance of Thanksgiving and took them out in the morning. There was not one left!!! I plan on making more, freezing them, and using them on as-needed basis.

It's back at Costco! For those of you who were so disappointed when Costco discontinued this cornbread, which is the very best, weep no more. I visited my local Western PA Costco yesterday and lot and behold, there it was. For what I paid to get it through Amazon's vendor, I could have bought at least two in the store.

I can't get enough of this corn bread and neither can my family or friends. I used to buy it all the time at Costo's I am no longer a member .I now can get it on-line. I get as many boxes so not to pay the shipping. I doesn't go stall if you leave it in a cool and dry place. I have had as many as 5 to 6 boxes stored for the year. This is the best you will get for boxed cornbread. It's even better then made from scratch. It's not sold in local stores. Get it and try it,you will be hooked for life.
