It delivers a durable, glossy finish that resists chipping, weathering, and thermal shock, suitable for both interior and exterior applications. This universal-fit, waterproof coating ensures long-lasting adhesion and comes with a satisfaction guarantee, making it the go-to choice for professionals demanding reliable heat protection. ## Description XTC Clear, the high temperature clear coat KBS Coatings makes in Valparaiso, Indiana. For the best result: prep to bare metal, wash with KBS Klean, add XTC Primer for rust protection, apply thin coats of XTC, then XTC Clear, let it dry 8 hours, then heat cure at 350°F. Thin only if needed, up to 5% with KBS #1 Thinner. Available as an aerosol and in 8 oz to 5 gallon cans. ## Features - 1200°F HIGH TEMP CLEAR: XTC Clear is a silicone clear coat for metal that runs above 500°F, rated for continuous service to 1200°F. It is UV stable, adds gloss over XTC colors, and protects bare metal or a patina on grills and smokers without hiding it. - COVERAGE (1 QUART): About 80 to 100 sq ft per coat at 1 mil, or 40 to 50 sq ft at the recommended 2 thin coats; expect up to 30% less on rough surfaces. Brush, roll or spray. Stir well and apply 2 thin coats 1 to 2 hours apart at 50 to 82°F. Thick coats blister. - PREP TO BARE METAL: Sandblast, or wire wheel or sand with 60 to 80 grit, then wash with KBS Klean (10 parts water to 1), rinse and dry. XTC goes on clean, dry, rust-free metal. - HEAT CURE IS REQUIRED: Let the last coat dry 8 hours, then heat to 350°F for 20 to 30 minutes in an oven, or on the engine with short heat cycles until the smoke clears. XTC does not reach full hardness until it is heat cured. Ventilate well; it gives off vapors during the first heat cycles. - USE IT ON: Headers, exhaust manifolds, mufflers and turbo housings; wood, coal, pellet and gas stoves, stove pipe, fireplace hoods and screens; furnaces, kilns and the outside of BBQ grills and smokers. Not for cooking surfaces, direct flame or parts that will be immersed. Goes over XTC colors or bare, prepped metal. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B079KG53WP | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Best Sellers Rank | #227,749 in Automotive ( See Top 100 in Automotive ) #20 in Automotive High Temperature Paint | | Brand Name | KBS Coatings | | Container Type | Can | | Customer Reviews | 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars (8) | | Finish Type | Gloss | | Included Components | 1 Quart of XTC Clear | | Is Waterproof | True | | Item Type Name | XTC Clear Quart | | Item Volume | 1 quarts | | Manufacturer | KBS Coatings | | Model Name | XTC Clear Quart | | Model Number | 65404 | | Part Number | 65404 | | Size | 32 Ounce (Pack of 1) | | Special Features | Chip Resistant | | Specific Uses For Product | Interior/Exterior | | UPC | 818032015530 | | Unit Count | 32 Ounce | | Warranty Description | Quite simply, if one follows application instructions and applies proper total dry film mil thickness, and you don’t believe our products perform just as well if not better than the products you are currently using, we will refund your product purchase. | ## Product Details - **Brand:** KBS Coatings - **Finish Type:** Gloss - **Included Components:** 1 Quart of XTC Clear - **Is Waterproof:** True - **Item Volume:** 1 quarts - **Model Name:** XTC Clear Quart - **Size:** 32 Ounce (Pack of 1) - **Special Feature:** Chip Resistant - **Specific Uses For Product:** Interior/Exterior - **Unit Count:** 32 Ounce ## Images ![KBS Coatings XTC High Temp Clear Coat, 1 Quart, 1200°F - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41yXa0unCXL.jpg) ## Frequently Bought Together - KBS Coatings 65404 Xtreme Temp Coating (XTC) 1 Quart Can Clear - KBS Coatings 65100 Gray Xtreme Temperature Coating Zinc Silicon Primer, 12 oz (Aerosol) - KBS Coatings 65402 Jet Black Xtreme Temperature Coating - 1 Quart, 32 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sn/products/198956184-kbs-coatings-xtc-high-temp-clear-coat-1-quart-1200](https://www.desertcart.sn/products/198956184-kbs-coatings-xtc-high-temp-clear-coat-1-quart-1200) --- *Product available on Desertcart Senegal* *Store origin: SN* *Last updated: 2026-11-01*
