**Q: How long is it?**
A: The bulb itself is 8 3/16 inches long.  With the prongs, it is 8 3/4 inches long.

**Q: Will these work in a 9 volt (6 x 1.5v) portable lantern?**
A: I'm not really sure if that work with your 9 V portable lantern but they work with my 12 V lantern

**Q: what's the diameter?  We need the skinny 9" ones (about 5/8", or slightly less) (how can the product dimensions not specify this?!?)**
A: They look to be 5/8" but they are not 9" long.  They measure @8 3/8" from base to base, not counting the prongs.

**Q: Will these work for my makeup mirror?**
A: Take out the current bulbs in your makeup mirror, read wattage of the bulb, see if it is 6W, do the length match, and see if the model numbers are the same, do the ends match..
