HemingWeigh Himalayan Salt Lamp with All Natural and Handcrafted Wooden Base, with Electrical Wire and Bulb 12.2 inches Height

OK, I bought a couple of these a year or two ago. One for my wife and one for her friend. At the time, I bought for my wife what I thought was a large lamp. I bought this one as a Christmas gift for a relative that had one on their list. Well, I said OK, I always look at reviews and look for the best deal of course and this one from Hemingweigh showed up on AmazonSmile. I looked at many offered on Amazon with some getting horrendous reviews. This one got the most and best, although you must be careful to note that sometimes the reviews are included in different sizes. I ordered the big one because that is the one my wife liked years before and we have a 30 dollar limit in our secret Santa. This one went a little over and I see today it is about 10 bucks higher than when I bought it last week. Anyhow, it arrived yesterday, I was in the kitchen and I heard a loud thump and then a quick knock on the door. I found my package delivered by UPS with a crumpled box on one end. I was immediately like OH NO!! I knew this was the lamp and had read reviews about cracked and shattered stones. I went to pick up the box and almost wrenched my back. This thing weighs in a 30.5 pounds! OMG!! Double the size I got my wife for a few bucks more than I paid for hers 2 years ago. I inspected the (Boulder) and it is heavily wrapped in heavy plastic and sealed. Since it is a gift I do not really want to totally unwrap it but it appears not to have cracked or broken from the UPS Man's improper handling of the product. My only real concern is that it did not arrive in the outer decorative box that shows the picture of the lamp or the maker. I have no way of knowing if this is truly a Hemingweigh lamp or not. It arrived in the inner packing box that you would normally find inside the decorative shelf box that they use to advertise and you would find if buying this item at a big box store. It may be that they don't sell this big in the stores. I have Never seen one this large or heavy in a store. I write this review to also warn that it may be too large for regular end or coffee table and I certainly wouldn't place it on a glass table top. It is very square compared to the smaller ones but still has a rough natural beauty to it. I will follow up with this review after Christmas and we are certain that the lamp works and it is not damaged in any way. If you want a larger stone, you have a place for it (on the floor maybe lol) and you want your money's worth, I recommend this. There is zero doubt to the weight and zero doubt as far as the lamps go, you are getting the biggest bang for your buck with it. Fingers crossed that it will light up beautifully at Christmas! I have purchased two salt lamps from this company. I bought the medium size which ended up being about 12 inches on one and only 10 on the other. The first one I bought was absolutely breathtaking. Beautiful on and off. A variety of texture and colors throughout. I was so pleased I bought another one. This one....less than impressive. It is shorter and blocky looking. Also the power switch was right next to the outlet so I have to get out of bed to turn off and on. Kind of a pain especially when you're all comfy and tired. I guess it's just the luck of the draw with these. They are very heavy and quality salt lamps otherwise. I have noticed the air in my room is fresher and I almost feel more energized when they are on. Love it! I have contacted the company about the cord issue and have not gotten a response yet but it's only been a day since I emailed. I will update with any relevant information. I would probably buy again...but we will see how they are with customer service first. I plan on getting s lamp for each room in the house.

I own several salt lamps. I put a 1 watt led in them and they are on 24hr a day to light up several rooms in my house. I do NOT believe in the hocus pokus powers of the "dehydrating the air to purify it." I think if you are believing this you will do better with a dehumidifier, and you should NOT put a led bulb in them because it will not dehumidity your room, no heat = no powers. I did a cost analysis on how much 1 watt plugged in for a full year 24 x 7 would cost based on $0.11 per kilowatt hour. The answer is $1.003 per year. So for a buck a year with the led bulb I light up my dark rooms. If you use the included 25 watt bulb you will pay $25ish a year. So don't leave it on 24 x 7 I guess. Anyway. Back to this salt lamp. It is the biggest and best glow out of all my lamps. It is also the dimmest, same light going through 25 lbs. If you are in the market to get a salt lamp, roll your dice on this massive chunk of salt. It is a crowd pleaser for sure. PS. The person that said they got one under 5 lbs is probably mistaken. I am sure the picture of the scale they had, the scale went around a few times? It looks to be the sameish size as mine and mine would look to weigh the same if I had a scale that did the same... Mine is 13in high and 8in wide. 25.6lbs

Love this so much h I bought 3 in different sizes. I was worried at first if it would be fake or not but it is the real deal. It absorbs water from the air so you may want to put something to protect whatever it is sitting on. The ambiance created from Thai lamp is so soothing. I have had these for several years and they have been working just as the should. The light is bright enough to see in the room but not so bright that it’s distracting,

I do a ton of research before buying anything, specially since I read so much about the recalls and defects about salt lamps. This is by far one of the better options and brands. I’ll list everything about the product since it won’t allow me to post more pictures. (Message me if you know how to add multiple pictures). 1. It’s massive! It says it’s 19-25lbs and mine weighed in at 28.6lbs! 2. The measurements of my salt lamp came in at ... 11inches tall X 8inches wide (left to right) X 9inches deep (front to back) 3. The packaging wasn’t all that great. It looked like my almost 3 year old packed it up. Lots of cardboard and not enough cushion or protection on the inside. They need to wrap it better but luckily it came all in one piece. 4. It comes a little dirty so you will need to clean it up by using a damp rag (make sure to ring out the water good) and wipe it gently. If you wipe it to hard, you can break off little chunks of the salt. It does shave off a little of the salt when you have to clean the harder spots so don’t worry, you just have to do a little more cleaning when done. 5. It comes with a little 15watt lightbulb inside of the lamp so you will have to take it out, unbox it, screw the light bulb in, and then put it in the pre drilled hole on the bottom. I recommend having someone hold it for you since it’s heavy and you can put the light in with ease. It has a butterfly clamp to hold it in place and center it. 6. It sits on a nice smooth wooden stand. It’s darker brown and looks nice. It has a little notch for the cord so it’s not offset. 7. The power cord has a simple on/off switch. Wish it came with a dimmer but you can buy a power cord with a dimmer from the same company here on amazon for $10. It has a beautiful glow to it at night and it really does put you at ease. It always makes me feel relaxed but it’s pretty bright. I bought it for the wifey but I had to move it to my bedside table because it’s too bright and wouldn’t allow her to sleep comfortably (whole reason I bought it) but after buying the dimmer cord I mentioned before, now it’s perfect. Overall I definitely recommend this salt lamp from HemingWeigh. It’s huge, looks great, help out you at ease, relaxing, and helps you sleep. Great buy for the price.

REVIEW UPDATE: gone from 1 star to 5 stars as they quickly shipped me out a replacement lamp in perfect condition. The lamp is absolutely gorgeous and great quality, it is such a nice addition to our living area. ———————————————————- This literally just arrived and I can’t even enjoy it! Switch was completely squashed so doesn’t even switch on. I’ve requested a replacement and I will update my review accordingly when the new one arrives, but right now I’m really disappointed as I was really looking forward to this! Also, box never said fragile, so amazon literally threw it down on my doorstep! I wondered what the loud thud was and asked the guy to wait whilst I checked it wasn’t smashed! I wish I had made him wait even longer for me to set it up and plug it in! Salt lamp itself is gorgeous which just makes all this so much sadder that I have to return it! I hope the next lamp is as good!

I have ordered a few salt lamps from a different company on Amazon (pretty well known) and I thought they were OK... I wasn't thrilled and so I decided to change to a different seller... ordered one of these and I am SO HAPPY I did! When I put this lamp next to the ones I bought from the other seller I can't believe how much better these are... I will be ordering more! Already have two and I can't wait to order a third. They are huge, perfectly imperfect shapes... the glow on them is lovely... My second one has all this deep color in it that I just love.. I highly recommend... Thank you!

Love this lamp. Have it in my living room. However, after doing some research, I found out that a lamp this size needs a 40 watt bulb so it can warm which a salt lamp needs to do to be order to work properly. The bulb that came with this lamp is only 15 watts and the lamp never gets the least bit warm. The cord says not to exceed 15 watts so now I have a lamp with a cord that is not sufficient to heat the lamp. That's why I only gave it four stars. I've been trying to contact the seller but have been unsuccessful. Update: Finally got an email back from the seller and he said I could use a 25 watt bulb even though the cord they provided with the lamp says not to exceed 15 watt!!!!! So essentially the seller thinks it's okay to tell a customer to put a stronger bulb in a socket that states otherwise. When I emailed him back stating essentially the same thing, I never heard back. Won't be purchasing from this seller again and I've downgraded his rating now to three stars!
