Uniquely valuable
"A portfolio for all markets" is nothing like most options trading books out there. And that's a very good thing. Having read dozens of books on options trading during my career in the markets, I concluded that most are technical analysis books in disguise. They focus on systems which try to predict the direction of a stock, index or a commodity and then merely use options as a tool to express that directional view. This book, on the other hand, teaches both beginner, intermediate and even advanced option traders how to construct option portfolios which profit regardless of the broad market direction, with strong risk controls. The author provides a variety of useful resources to get started with options trading, with a focus on systems which can help the trader backtest various options strategies. The aim of the book isn't to give the new trader a system just to copy and paste without any understanding, but provides the methodology and suggested strategies which the trader can use to construct a profitable market-neutral options portfolio. Most importantly, the proof is in the pudding. The author of the book provides regular monthly updates of his entire portfolio performance on his YouTube channel, with profitable and consistent outperformance against the market benchmarks in a great majority of all months. This should give any potential reader comfort that the strategies outlined in the book are proven, tried and tested.

Simple for beginners
For anyone with a simple understanding of the markets and/or options this book is not for you. I was looking a detail layout of sample portfolios and ideas, this was not it. Only buy this book if you are starting your learning / research from zero.

Great Options Strategy Book
This is a great options trading book. It expounds upon simpler concepts to take your options trading in a new direction. I used to think that options were very risky and there wasn’t a way to improve the volatility. Karl illustrates a few great methods, but does not give out a simple trading method with the book, however he does have a paid and unpaid course that illustrates a few strategies that are outlined in the book. I can’t speak highly enough about the book, it will really change your opinion about options trading from a high risk low reward (ie gambling) to a low risk high reward.

Informative! Great information to know if you trade options!
It’s very obvious that Karl knows the real facts around trading options. This is a complex topic but Karl breaks it down well - will it make you rich? No, but it might prevent catastrophic mistakes.

Junk, trying to sell a course
This " author" pretty much copied some basic strategies from youtube and is trying to sell as his own. Miracommando.

This book won't make you rich overnight, but it may help you avoid some costly mistakes.
If you're looking for a self-contained, magic system to get rich, this is not the book for you. It does not contain any proprietary information. If you're a veteran trader of index options you probably already know most of what's in this book (and may mildly disagree with some of it). But if you're a prudent retail trader looking for some solid principles to inform your trading as you mature, this book is great! My only main criticism of this book is the lack of detail in some sections. I would be very interested to see a second edition with a few detailed (swollen) appendices. For example, the advice to backtest any trading system is sound, but there is not much said about *how* to do it properly except a reference to two software products and the advice to write R or python scripts. This deserves a whole chapter, at least. To be fair, don't know of any book that covers this.
