Whale Wars: Season 2

Japan is the last nation in the world that considers whales more interesting as meat than as wonderful creatures that deserve our most profound admiration and respect. To add insult to injury, their slaughter of 1.000 whales a year is done under the banner of "scientific research". The volunteers interfering with this cruel activity are considered by them as "eco-terrorists". For me, they are really heroes, ready to give their lives in order to save the lives of whales. In this series, you will see how the Japanese whaling fleet took some countermeasures to block the tactics of the Sea Shepherds, both defensive and offensive, leaving Paul Watson ultimately no other option than to use the only weapon he had left : ramming his boat into a killing boat. They are really the pirates of passion, fighting the pirates of greed.The actions of the Sea Shepherds volunteers are very effective. Their unstoppable harassment succeeded this season in reducing the self-imposed Japan quota with 305 whales. Respect !Japan really behaves very cruel towards all ocean life. Season 2 was definately better than the first. Unfortunatley they were completely unsuccessful in this one because the Nushin Maru was too clever. They made it virtually impossible for the Sea Sheapards to attack their processing ship in any way. The Nushin Maru could not be stopped and actually harpooned and processed 4 or 5 whales right in front of the Sea Sheapards. This whale meat would be later shipped off to Japan's fish markets.I was just about in tears when I saw this actual footage, but anyway it was an excellent campaign. My husband and I are thinking of joining the Sea Sheapards ourselves in the future. Who knows, we might be on the video some day!!! We feel very strongly about it.

these are the modern day heroes, people that fight for something they believe in and its something other than money. true, there is a lot of controversy with what they do but considering their deep pocket extremely powerful opponents, sea shepaerd has to use all they have in their arsenal. i agree with their tactics even though pete berthune said some things about them. with such a powerful opponent, its like telling david that he cannot use any weapon against goliath except his fists. sorry, there are somethings said here that are not in season 2.

If you only see one episode of Whale Wars, season 2 episode 10 is the one. This brutal episode shows the extended killing of a hapless whale by the Japanese whalers and explains why the Whale Wars are being fought. Season 2 is one of the best, showing Captain Watson's single ship almost trapped and smashed in the Antarctic pack ice, a mutinous crew rebelling against a seemingly incompetent first mate, and Watson's ship repeatedly failing to prevent the faster whalers from transferring dead whales to the factory ship.

I purchased this as a gift for my son who is a huge fan of this show. He was thrilled. Every season keeps him glued to the screen and excited to see the next season. It also taught him to stand his ground on what he believes in and that he can make a difference.

Great season. Wish prime was good for season 4 & 5. Can't wait. This season the unskilled liberals bring out new toys. Don't know how to use them and get taken away early. Too bad Paul is in jail in Germany or we would have a 6th season already.

I love whale wars so I bought the dvd. Unfortunately it does not work as of region restrictions, it’s now just sat in my room.

If you're a fan of it, or "reality tv" if it actually falls into that category, then all in all for the money I payed, a great value buy. Very quick delivery! Was told 3 to 5 days, arrived after two! Very good buy in my opinion!
