Sony Walk man performs as expected. Sony has always delivered for me.

As a non-audiophile person, I really like this device. It's small, charges quickly, and gets the job done. However, the startup is slow and the battery only lasts 2 ish hours, so you have to charge it regularly. If you're only using it for light listening during certain hours, it's the perfect device. However, if you're going to be listening a lot, I would probably avoid it.

The sound quality is excellent. Purchased a rubber type proctective cover and a zip carrying case. Love those too. Using the player with Sony earbuds or Sony overhead earphones. Watch UTube videos on unit to familiarze yourself with player. Bought it to replace an acient IPod. Love the player!l

Why did you pick this product vs others?: The syncing is - at least at this point -sketchy.

I guess I will have to order a pair of headphones separately.

Low onboard memory will not handle a lot of apps, from what I understand from Sony you can not put most if any apps for the device on the SD card. Battery life is also no as advertised it depletes fairly quickly. Not happy with the purchase.

Me parece muy mal que Sony queria hacer con este reproductor, el tema de tener android me parecion algo interesante pero a la larga creo que afecta a la bateria icreiblemete y a la reproduccion del audio, seria genial poder tener solo el sistema operativo del A55 en este reproductor, tengo mas de 35000 archivos mp3 por que soy melomano y cuando quiero reproducirlos hay un lag de por lo menos 3 segundos para pasar de cancion en cancion y eso es inaceptable para mi, tuve que volver a mi antiguo A55 que la reproduccion de al instante si tener que esperar por cancion, una pena de verdad por que parecia que este reproductor seria mucho mejor pero no fue asi.

The Sony NW-A105 comes with a full Android operating software baked in, it works just like app-heavy Android smartphone. Which is exactly what I wanted to get away from when looking for an iPhone alternative with a dedicated music player. The hardware is very good. The quality of the sound is better than iPhone 14. We can add SD card to the player: we can substantially extend the storage. No need to buy expensive version with more internal storage. The supplied Music Centre software intended to manage the player content is not efficient. It was not possible to create playlist in a normal way: usually we select the tracks. drop it in the list folder. It is not working this way. A way to solve this issue: In iTunes artists are arranged as folders: using Windows Explorer I dropped the files made by iTunes in the SD card Music folder. Or in the internal storage Music folder. When playing ,select a folder you want (artist) from the playing menu, start the first track - it will play all tracks in artist folder , in the sequence made by iTunes. So, no need to create Playlist- arrange a folder, drop inside what you want. Seems Sony limited the charging current to be safer for the device, but it is taking long time to charge. Probably was possible to make the device with larger screen, larger battery, longer playing time. My fingers are normal, but still I need to be very careful how I hit the buttons. The larger screen should be better. As a music player it is really good. I tried with several different high end Hi-Res Audio headphones: works fine. Can adjust the volume and the sound is really good.

Da ich mit der Audio Qualität von meinem Oppo Find X3 Pro nicht zufrieden war (im Vergleich zum Galaxy S21 Ultra, welches mir gestohlen wurde) wollte ich einen vernünftigen Audio Player. Ich höre hauptsächlich mit den Sony WF-1000XM4 und bin sehr begeistert von der Kombi. Ich nutze den Walkman mit Direct Sound, also keine zusätzliche Klangeinstellungen. Das gibt für mich das beste, weil neutralste Klangbild. Damit spielt der Player sehr Detail reich, laut genug ohne zu übertreiben., Natürlich vorausgesetzt die orginal Aufnahme und das Wiedergabeformat geben es auch her. Die Bedienung ist gelungen, klar gibt es immer was zu verbessern aber die Tatsache das es eben auch Druckschalter für die wichtigsten Befehle und eine Sperre gibt, ist super gelöst. Bluetooth einwandfrei auch über eine längere Distanz (10-15 Meter mehr habe ich jetzt gar nicht getestet). Android funktioniert gut, eben auch Amazon Music, auch mit Downlaod für Offline. Einzig die Startzeit ist ein wenig lang. Aber das ist, denke ich dem Android OS und schwachen Prozessor geschuldet. Ist aber noch erträglich. Akkudauer geht ok, also bis jetzt war ich immer nur so 3-4 Stunden am Stück unterwegs, kann es also nicht letztendlich beurteilen. Aber alles in allem, kann ich den Walkman nur empfehlen wenn man Musik genießen will und mit seinem Handy nicht 100% zufrieden ist.

The build quality and the ergonomic are fantastic. To the point you'd just wonder why to pay more when this one does the trick. Of course, there are major known cons such a the battery life (4 to 5 hours at best if you leave the bluetooth or wifi on), or the Android OS which hasn't been customized for Audio. I guess (YMMV) it is possible to cope with them with workarounds and habit. Unfortunately I have found another major flaw when you listen to streaming services. This device won't be able to sound that great unless you use something like UAPP. This is something you only realize if you have good iem by the way. UAPP is great but do have all the bells and whistles of the service app (Tidal, Qobuz,...). For instance you can't view the lyrics or listen to downloaded content. If you only use local files from your SD card then I believe this walkman is a great value at the current discount price if you don't mind the poor battery life and the average UI Android experience.
