This is a mobile charger, not a jump starter
I again forgot to check the reviews before buying. This is getting returned immediately, now that I realized this is a 20 amp charger, not a jump starter even though it is labeled that way. This item uses dewalt batteries to CHARGE another battery, it does not jump start an engine. With the typical dewalt battery this will provide around 5% of charge, which won't even help with starting a car from a very discharged battery. The uses of this are so incredibly limited. Other jump starters have features to allow a jump start when a battery isn't detected, like if your battery has failed. This will not do that. This product will literally only work if your car battery just happens to be on the very edge of having enough charge to turn the engine over, and even then it will only give you enough charge to attempt one start. So if you have a bad battery that won't hold a charge (which you won't know until you shut the car off next) and you used this to luckily start it, don't let the car shut off until you have a new car battery in hand. Ridiculous. Also, which should be obvious, the lights are covered if you use a large Dewalt battery. As a note, since this is just a charger and not a jump starter, this product is just a voltage regulator, taking the 18v Dewalt batteries (20v max) to a regulated 14.4v. This means this product should cost about $20-30 retail, as the electronics are incredibly cheap. They have bloated the price to the level of other jump starters, when it isn't a jump starter.

Great unit with the right battery
This charger /jumper has been amazing. I think most of the bad reviews may be from people that are using 5 amp batteries or less. Use this with a flexvolt 6 amp or 9 amp and it works amazing. Like most people have commented, this won't jump a completely dead and worn down battery, due to the safety circuitry inside.

It is what it is, pretty good for what it is.
Unit looks like it is well designed. Provides 14.5 volts from a 20v battery max 20 amps. I see china 20v to battery clamps cheap but you are risking heating up battery and these things are dangerous. Just really a charger and not a booster. A Booster like the harbor freight 2000 provides a high pulsed peak current but the Battery is sealed and not user replaceable. Who knows how safe these china batteries are. I keep a 2000 in a steel ammo box in the trunk. They say not to keep in hot trunk so exactly how are we suppose to carry it ? In an Ice chest ? This thing will not wear out like others because battery is removable. 14V is a safe charging voltage. Handy if lawn tractor battery is low. For car im going to stick with 2000 amp boost model . Keep this as backup.

Not good. Not awful either.
This is great concept. And for boosting a lawn mower it works pretty well. I put a 9a flex volt in it which gives it the power it needs to work but that sadly blocks the LEDs. With a 20v that most users have this thing is useless, so the fact the flex volt blocks the LEDs is a bit of a burn. I wouldn’t buy again. But also not mad at my purchase as it does have some use to me.

Another high quality Dewalt tool
Easy to use, nice n compact, paired it with dewalt xr 20v 4ah battery pack, used it to recharge and jump my 2009 bmw e90 several times already. Led light comes in handy, will be taking this as emergency roadside kit on trips. Charge button only works when hooked up to a battery; must let it fast-charge your dead battery for 3-5mins before starting car.

Such a shame
Sad you couldn’t jump start a moped with this. I’ve actually jump started a car with a dewalt battery and had better results than I did with this.

matched battery nowhere to find
Sorry but the 20v battery that is exclusively matched to this jump starter is unavailable everywhere, even on the website of the manufacturer.
