I purchased this as a Father’s Day gift from my toddler girls to their Daddy. My little preschoolers were in awe to see the images on the wall, which made Daddy’s day. Some of these were pretty tough to finagle the fingers just right, but overall these images are all what you’d expect to see in a shadow puppet book. There are 28 shadows included in this book. Each image also has a creative poem to go with them, which entertained both the kids and the adults. I knocked this down a star for presentation because this is a thin, black and white-paged book. There is no “curb appeal” to this product, but for the price you cannot go wrong. See my pictures for a couple examples of the inside of this book.

The book is small, perfect for a Christmas stocking! Santa brings stocking suffers in our house mom and dad get credit for the costlier items, so great gift from Santa! He better buy a flashlight lol

This little book is a fantastic find! Hand Shadow Fun is filled with easy-to-follow illustrations that make learning shadow puppets simple and enjoyable. It’s a great way to entertain kids (and adults!) using just a flashlight and your hands. The drawings are clear, and the variety of shadow animals and figures keeps things interesting. My family has had so much fun trying out different hand shapes, and it’s been a hit during bedtime storytelling. Perfect for kids, parties, or anyone who loves classic, screen-free entertainment. Highly recommend!

With so many electronic gadgets, computers, pc tablets, learning games & even cell phones, it seems old fashioned fun & games have gone by the wayside. This hand shadows book is fun & helps me prove that fun can be had without using batteries...well, I suppose your light source might be battery powered. The illustrations are easy to follow & the poems are simple, yet cute. These hand shadows were selected from Henry Bursill's, "Hand Shadows to be Thrown Upon the Wall" (1859) & "Hand Shadows: Second Series" (1860) with original verses by Frank Jacobs. These shadows are fun, the kids love them; the poems add even more interest and fun to my hand shadow 'shows'. I love this book, the kids love this book, everyone loves this book! Great Purchase!

Es un libro breve que te enseña a hacer 28 figuras con las manos. En una página viene una rima en inglés y, en la otra, una ilustración que te indica cómo hacer las sombras. Las posturas pueden parecer un poco difíciles al principio. Pero con un poco de práctica (poca), conseguirás hacerlas. A los niños les divierte mucho y os lo pasaréis muy bien. Una lástima que no esté traducido al castellano. Sería el regalo ideal para los niños.

Una guía para proyectar figuras de animales y personajes. Son ilustraciones tipo dibujo que incluyen un breve texto en inglés alusivo. Son 28 figuras. La calidad de la impresión es regular tirando a mala en saturación como en sustrato. No es del todo ilustrativo la forma en que se acoplan las manos para generar las sombras. En muchos casos hay que ingeniárselas porque la perspectiva que da la ilustración no es clara. La verdad en Internet hay tutoriales más mejores pues.

just a fun little, inexpensive stocking stuffer. I remember making shadow creatures and stories on the wall at night with my sister. I hope the two sisters I am giving this to at Christmas have as much fun with it together as my sister and I had. Lots of neat hand patterns to make and talking creatures to make your own little shadow movies!
