Excellent product, whilst it’s a small bottle it goes very far and so you don’t need a lot of it on your cloth, it’s fairly thick and gives the slate a soft sheen and enhances the slates colour! Very pleased

Arrived next day, but it had leaked, didn't lose much oil, but won't leave it on its side to store, as screw top doesn't fill me with confidence. Used it yesterday on our hearth that our log burner sits on, and have to say WOW ! someone mentioned a little goes a long way, and yes it does. Found best applicator was a bit of sponge, tried paper towels, fibre cloth, but sponge seemd easiest. Finish is spot on, and will probably re-coat in a month or 2, but initial coverage/finish is spot on Leaves the heart looking brand new, with no smell or excess. Very happy with the product, and it will last for ages !

I bought this to bring my slate hearth back to life. It covered faded spots with ease , however, two coats may be required depending on how bad the faded spots or discolouration is. In my case I had been using floor cleaner to clean the hearth / fireplace, over time the slate tiles faded in places, the oil made them look good with a subtle sheen.

Great little product. Recommend by our plasterer when redoing our dining room. Never had slate before and the difference is clear. Used about 20% on the space shown. One coat seems to have done it. One of our slates is of a slightly different colouring but can’t complain at the difference.

Greate idea i bought to use on my table/coasters. Put a very thin coat on and let it dry for a few hrs before adding a second coat. Brings out the colour of the slate and protects it especially the coasters.

Bought for slate hearth tiles, bare slate always looks grey and dull and marks easily, applied this, you only need a small amount, rubbed in with a cloth, it's oil, so the slate stays oily to touch for a few hours after application, but it does dry up. It darkens the slate, just like if you put water on the slate, but it stays like that. Probably have to re apply at least once a month, but that would be personal preference. Also makes it easier to keep the slate clean, a quick wipe with a damp cloth. No ingredients on the bottle, but for me, it just smells like linseed oil. This bottle for my hearth will last absolutely ages, so good value for money. I would recommend this if you can put up with the oily finish for a few hours.

Great stuff, applied with an old washing up sponge, a little goes a long way and it shone our hearth up beautifully.

Easy to use

As others have commented, I had a similar issue where my new slate fireplace had a gray cast and I wasn’t sure what to put on it. This really did the trick and I am pleased! I will continue using it periodically as needed.

Just used it on my slate hearth. Man, the hearth looks brand new. It was super easy to use and really does the job. Taking one star off because it arrived messed up, with product having leaked in transit. The bottle wasn't broken. I suspect the lid just isn't leak-proof.

Used on slate table for a while. Product works well, it's excellent!
