Guweiz: The Art of Gu Zheng Wei

I bought this as a gift for my son along with another one. He loves the book. The information on his journey in art provides valuable insight for anyone. the pages are beautifully rendered and there is a wide spectrum of his art represented. The only downside to this book is how dark it is. Very hard to see some of the detail.

Beautiful hardback art book with insightful stories about Gu Zheng Wei’s journey as an artist. I have seen many of these creations online, but there’s a different feel to seeing them in print. As an artist, I really enjoy reading about his workflow and process. Every artist works differently, but there is always something to learn from others to help discover a new technique or perspective or to further hone one that is known. For those who would like an idea of the book’s layout: It starts with the introduction and 27 pages of his journey as an artist. An urban style gallery is presented from 36-51, his routine 52-64, and worldly 70-94. A fantasy gallery from 96-117, 3 project dissections from 118-147, and ends with a thank you. I have no regrets on this purchase.

If you like the artist, you'll like the book, simple as that. Has some insightful information throughout it from how they started as an artist, their drawing process, inspirations, various tips, things like that. About what you'd expect in a book like this. Overall a very nice, high quality book. I do have one small complaint. A lot of Guweiz's works tend to be pretty dark, and the printing in this book is also on the darker side. It can be pretty difficult to see details in some of the artwork which is a shame. Granted, not a whole lot you can do about that I guess.

One of the most talented illustrators I have ever found, and one of my favorites for sure! This artbook has his artistic journey, his routine, workflow, and beautiful galleries of his best works. The print quality is amazingly sharp and detailed, and the contents are really well organized and shown. I can't express how happy I am of having this book on my hands, thank you Guweiz! <3

This book is everything I’ve ever wanted in an an art book! Not only will you get plenty of art but you also get background story and process for each. The artist also brings a perfect amount of personality in the writing and it makes the book feel very personal and charming. He talks about how he gets his ideas, his inspirations as well as hardships which I really appreciate. Highly recommend this art book to any artist wanting to get some inspiration.

Best artbook i’ve seen. guweiz is my favorite artist. I actually backed his kickstarter on his second book because this one was so good. buy this!

Beautiful art, wonderful incite and backstories, the quality of the book itself is amazing. The images are so rich and crisp, the texture and feel of it is the furthest thing away from cheap or bad quality. It seems like a lot of thought, precision and care went into the product itself just as much as the artwork.

It was a nice book; contained more about Guweiz’s process and growth as an artist. I was expecting something more educational, maybe some advice. It’s a solid book if you’re looking to learn more about his process though. Not quite my thing.

uno de los mejores libros que e comprado en amazon, el tamaño del libro es grande, la calidad de impresión esta bien (podría estar mejor pero por el tamaño es entendible), las imágenes abarcan toda la hoja, el libro viene en idioma ingles pero no creo que sea un problema por que el texto es fácil de leer y no es muy complicado el vocabulario que usa, una compra recomendada al 100%

È un fantastico libro, dalle illustrazioni ai pensieri dell’artista, che mi hanno lasciato riflettere e stimolarmi nel mio percorso creativo. Mi ha colpito l’inizio della sua carriera in cui non ti aspetteresti mai qualcosa del genere, se non il classico “ho iniziato a disegnare sin da piccoli”, oppure dei suoi piccoli consigli per artisti principianti per evitare che cadano nei stessi errori commessi. Consiglio tantissimo questo libro per chi volesse avere qualche idea chiara sulla carriera, stimolo in più o semplicemente sfogliare qualche libro illustrato interessante.
