Bond...James Bond. For a portable system
Unlike the newer DS titles, this game tried something that no other handheld had tried up to this point. A totally rendered FPS. Not isometric like Doom or Dark Forces. It is interesting to note that they did port Doom and Doom II to the GBA as well. It is also interesting to note that the controls are different, since there are no buttons for "looking" like in some of the DS titles. This is also a port of the PC version of the game, so the difference is no driving levels.Overall, a great little gem. Pick it up, especially if you are a Bond fan. The major drawback is that the characters are hard to see at times. A bit revolutionary, considering they ported this game to the GBA at the time.

Great collection item!
A personal classic and favorite of mine so glad to see this game again it's been a long time. I recommend this to any names bond fan and great for the collection.

A GBA FPS
Not a game for everyone, this title for the GBA brings the action of a FPS Bond game in a handheld. A first for the series.

Somewhat decent FPS for the GBA
If you've played Nightfire on any of the other home systems, than you'll be pleased to know that for the most part that the objectives, locations, and maps are nearly identical (albeit more simplistic) in this GBA conversion. The only problem is, you'll be lucky if you can see what your doing half the time. The first thing you'll notice when you pop in Nightfire, are the surprisingly blurry graphics. The enemies move around so stiff and the graphics are so blurry that sometimes you'll have a hard time telling if your shooting an enemy or a coffee table, but the enemies shout out annoying one liners at you so this doesn't become that big a drawback (then again..). The clumsy item access interface that is found on any of the other Nightfire versions is here as well, but thanks to the GBA's limited control scheme it is harder to navigate items and while moving and aiming your weapon at the same time. This becomes even more of a pain during the stealth missions. However, Nightfire is not without it's charm; the music and sound effects are excellent and some of the best to be heard on the GBA, and there is a surprising amount of depth to be found thanks to getting to use all sorts of Bond gadgets like the laser wristwatch and tons more, all of which you have access to. That alone is Nightfire's saving grace, and the game's surprising depth makes it worth a rental, but I strongly suggest trying the game before you buy.

Terrible. No stars for either controls or graphics.
This game took 20 seconds to get on my nerves. I would expect better response and graphics from an old NES system! Compared to the beautiful Gameboy Advance translation of Donkey Kong Country, for example, or Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, and 007 Nightfire looks like it's a game from four computer generations ago.The graphics wouldn't be a problem if gameplay were a compensation. Unfortunately, the enemies in this game look like white blobs with vague black eyeholes, the sounds and voices sound like they were recorded with a portable tape recorder, and controls...this game should have been called 007: Need a Stairmaster, because your 007 moves like he has lead weights attached to him. It takes about a whole second after pressing forward before your agent starts to move forward, and strafing is nearly pointless because of it. The control scheme requires that you stand dead still in order to shift your aim, and that is also slow and ponderous. My thumb hurt after a couple of minutes of dealing with this control scheme, and after hacking through to Level 4, I just gave up. I happen to value my eyesight and looking at the blobs on the screen wasn't doing my eyes any good.I was stunned that Electronic Arts, responsible for some excellent shooters (the Medal of Honor series, for example), produced this atrocity. A game of the lowest quality.

007 nightfire: A review
This game is GREAT!! This graphics are kinda lacking, but it is addictive and has great sound effects(including in game speech, fellow babies!). Another downside besides the graphics being a little cheeky is no multiplayer mode. Gee whiz! That's what bond games are all about! Anyway, this is how I rate each aspect of the game, 1 being the lowest to 10 being the highest.Graphics: 7.5 out of 10This is the first corridor style game for GBA, and I think that the graphics are pretty ambitious. They are low resolution and blocky though, but it has to be to prevent game slowdowns.Story: 6 out of 10Typical Bond plot. Some nuclear war-head is stolen and you gotta stop the bad guy.Sound:7.5 out of 10:Like the graphics, the sound is done remarkably well for the GBA system. You can hear helocopters, people speaking, even your own foot steps!Multiplayer: 0 out of 10Some people may disagree with me, but I think that all bond games should have the multiplayer option. The fact that this game don't have one sucks.Replay value: 9 out of 10Definately one of the game's stong points. I have played levels 1, 5, and 2 countless times just because they're so much fun. :) The real fun part of this game is trying for gold after you've beaten the level. You get this really nifty gold gun on the next level.Overall: 8.5 out of 10.This game is a must for die hard bond fans and lovers of first person shooters. BTW, all you stooges that say the graphics suck, go get yourself some glasses. I cannot stress this enough: Graphics don't make the game.
