OXO Good Grips 3-Piece Wooden Spoon Set

Great set of serving spoons for a fair price. The spoons have a good fit for the hands. Definitely built better than the last set of spoons I had. No staining so far.

THESE ARE NOT DISHWASHER SAFE. IT SAYS SO ON THE PACKAGING. I've been using these to help mix together pizza dough in place of owning a stand mixer. The medium size one works well for this, and while it is a bit deep for that purpose the cleanup isn't too bad. I just scrub it with a soapy sponge, leave it to dry, and it's good as new. I haven't used the big or small spoons in the set, but OXO's products have yet to fail me so if the medium sized one is anything to go by, they'll work just as well for whatever I use them for. The handle is very chunky and easy to get a good grip on, so if you have any sort of condition that might cause you to struggle with a tool that has a more slender handle, these are for you.

I had a solid wood “Red Sauce” spoon that I used for many other uses as well, it was well over 40 years old. Sadly it developed a vertical split in the center of the spoon. I decided it was bound to develop and carry some nasty bugs/viruses/yucky stuff and it was time to find a new one. I couldn’t find one as big and plentiful as Strega Nona’s spoon and pot produced, but, this set is solid, nicely built and has 3 extra spoons to experiment with. I think these are very well made and hopefully they will work in my kitchen forever! I’m not crazy about buying from big brands and prefer to shop locally but, sadly there are no artisans nor kitchen gear stores in my village so these will do the trick!

I pick these spoons because they were three different sizes and smaller than the ones I already had. Love the construction of them as the edges are slightly thinner than that of the spoon head. That makes it so much easier to effectively stir things and remove food from pots and pans. The small one works perfectly with my small rice cooker with a non-stick. In fact it removes all the rice better than the plastic spoon that came with the ricer. The handles are larger which I appreciate because as you get older your hands lose collagen and things become more difficult to grip. Like with any wooden implement cleaning up is easy. I always Wash them immediately after I finish using them and NEVER put them in a dishwasher as the high temperature hot water and the drying cycle are not good for for wooden implements. Well I expect these spoons to last for a good many years I would definitely purchase more of these types of products from OXO

How much can you say about a wooden spoon? I like all three sizes. They are thick and are easy to hold. The cheapy ones I have used for years always felt like they might break if I pushed to hard. These certainly will not break. My wife isn't happy that they have to be hand washed, but I never put anything wooden into the dishwasher, so not a big deal for me. They are easy to clean and dry quickly. I also use them to serve with after using them to cook with.

The spoons are substantial and nicely finished

Start splitting after getting wet, a little harder to clean, heat resistant, not sturdy because of the splitting

Been using this for a few months now and i must say these spoons are great. We use them pretty regularly and they are still in the same shape they were in when we got them. We take the time to oil the spoons when needed and this is keeping them nice. The three difference sizes are great for when you are doing different tasks/pots. Thick handle and spoon means that they won't break when trying to stir a more hardy or difficult to stir ingredients. Purchased a few OXO good grips products and all have been of good quality and stood up over time. you might pay a little more than a cheap alternative but the quality stands out. Shipped in a good amount of time and with no issues.

The back of the spoons have mouldy marks. Have submitted return request. Disappointing.

Really nice quality. I suggest you oil the spoons after washing and drying each time.
