I needed something new, so I purchased this. It’s not the same as the Aveda product, but it works well. Here’s where I noticed differences:1. Thickness: This shammy is thicker than what I was used to. However, I’ve discovered I like the thickness because it gives the shammy some weight. I can already that is going to last for a while. I like that.2. Texture: This shammy is more smooth than the one I’d been using. Since it has a different feel, I wasn’t sure I was going to like that because I didn’t think the shammy would do a good job of catching and removing dirt and makeup. I’ve discovered I like how the shammy glides over my skin and I’ve had no issue getting my face clean.3. Price: Though the other shammy worked well, it was extremely expensive. This shammy gets the job done and does so at a much more affordable price.4. Drying: If you use a face shammy, you know when you hang them to dry they become stiff. This shammy dries quickly, and because it is thicker it doesn’t become brittle or crack when fully dry.4. Size: I don’t have the exact measurements, but this shammy seems a bit bigger than the brand I used to use. That’s a good thing because it’s large enough for me to clean my entire face well.I love this shammy and my teenage daughters do too. I plan on buying more for our use and gifting a few to friends. You can see the dirt lifted off your skin and are left with supple feeling skin. I use this daily but was a bit disappointment to get a white one when I thought it would be pink. Not a big deal breaker just would have liked to know. So for those of you buying you may not get a pink one just an FYI. But don't let that sway you from purchasing this as it is a great buy and does a great job. It does dry stiff like your normal chamois. I started off using a Shammy Cloth by Aveda but once I saw this here, I decided to give it a try. It is much softer and easier to handle and works just as well. I just adore the powder pink color it comes in.I had issues with my Aveda Shammy Cloth getting black spots on it, no matter how many times I washed it. I have not had that problem with this cloth. I will continue to order more of these.
