Rich, Tasty Coffee
I grind and brew my own coffee daily, and am very picky about what my wife and I drink. There are no worries when it comes to Koffee Kult's Medium Roast Whole Bean. They're a local coffee maker and everything I've gotten from them has been relatively fresh, even when ordered from Amazon. While Medium Roast packs plenty of flavor, it is easy to drink with tons of coffee goodness. The aroma of the beans should be made into a perfume or cologne. There is just a hint of bitterness which can become more pronounce if it isn't brewed properly, but when it is done right this is an amazing brew. It works well black or with a touch of half and half. I only use filtered or spring water, and grind my beans right before brewing. For a full pot I also include a pinch of sea salt and a dash of Ceylon cinnamon with the grinds. That first cup wakes me right up and the aroma is fantastic. It also holds up well to staying warm throughout the morning compared to some less premium coffees. I guess that may be due to Koffee Kult only using the top 2% of premium Columbian aracbica beans. I appreciate that they are ethically and organically sourced as well so don't mind paying just a touch more. They are worth it! While the company is local, it was less expensive to get them through Amazon. ~ Kort

Coffee that is smooth and doesn't need creamer or sugar to hide the taste
I have drank coffee all around the world in 40 different countries, so when having to wakeup to go to work in some place you never heard, morning coffee has it value. Now that I am retired I still love great coffee and price doesn't matter, even though they went from 1 pound to 12 ounce's since the 70's but still charge you the same price. Well, I came upon this koffee kult brand, and read the reviews, since the name caught my curiosity, and it was in a pound bag. When it arrived the smell of it when opened was lovely. Put some in the grinder and started brewing which you could smell a wonderful aromma. I usually put sweet cream in my coffee because the name brands just don't taste good enough without due to the acid taste, we use zero filter water, but it doesn't help. This coffee was so smooth and I was shocked that it was so good without creamer. It was good enough that I had 2 cups, which are large cups hand made, and I usually have just one because of having to use the creamer. Now my wife wants to know if they make decaf koffee kult, which after sending the question, they do so I will be ordering some decaf for her. I ordered more a 2 pound bag of beans. This is the best coffee I have tasted since my travels around the world, and beats the top name brands on the market which I know you know the ones I am referring to. So don't let the name fool you and try some excellent tasting coffee that comes in a pound bag. You won't be disappointed and you will wakeup to a smooth tasty cup of coffee that will start your day.

My absolute favorite coffee!
I've tried a lot of different coffees over the years. I started out drinking the free swill at work, but quickly outgrew that and branched out into brewing my own. I purchased a basic Melita pour-over and bought some of the local store brand ground coffee. It was better, but not great, even to my unrefined palate. I then tried some of the other generic name brand ground coffee, but found that all of it got bitter within a couple days of opening it. I bought vacuum canisters, but that only extended it's life to a week. So, I did some more research and decided to jump into the whole bean arena, since they last longer. I bought a decent burr grinder and some of the bulk imported beans at the grocery store. Much better flavor, but still...not great. I've since tried beans from several local roasters (some good, but inconsistent), coffee houses around the country (I travel a bit for work), and a plethora from Amazon as well, in my pursuit of perfection. I've found it remarkably difficult to find a coffee which is low in acidity and high in flavor. There have been a few, but they were either too expensive (real Kona & Jamaican Blue), or inconsistent between batches (local). Enter Koffee Kult. Wow! This is IT! Perfection! Low acidity, great earthy flavor, and smooth! I received an email the day it shipped, with instructions with optimal brewing for a number of different methods (I now use a Hario pour-over), which I was pleasantly surprised by. I also received a follow-up email several days later from the owner, asking how I was enjoying the coffee. I'm thoroughly impressed by both the quality of the coffee and the sincerity and care that the owner has for their customers. I couldn't be happier. I will be ordering another bag when this one runs out and will post an update, if the taste changes significantly. Update: It's still great after 2 more bags!

Great Price, Fine Aroma, Subtle Flavor
I'm more than happy with my purchase. For at least a year now, I've been searching for a lower-priced alternative to Stumptown Hairbender, which I just can't justify at $18 for 12 ounces. While Koffee Kult medium roast doesn't have the complexity, powerful aroma and sweet finish of Hairbender, it's subtle with a sweetish, chocolaty finish that makes for a decent substitute. Combine that with a very high QPR - roughly half the price of Hairbender - and you've got a winner. I drink my coffee straight, use a manual burr grinder (medium/coarse grind) and a Melitta pour over apparatus.

Very average coffee, nothing special
Actually im not sure why people are hyped up about this coffee. Its a very average coffee, i got the medium roast. It has little to no flavour at all. There is no roast date, only a best by date on the package, so freshness is questionable since there is no information on that. I found a brand like counter culture actually has quite a bit stronger flavour. Definitely wouldn't put this coffee in a premier tier

Just found my #1 coffee choice....maybe.
This coffee is great! I recently switched to a french press and have been searching for a good whole bean coffee to use it with. Took me five attempts, but I think I just found my go to coffee for the french press. The aroma is just as many others have described, it's hard to pull your nose away from the bag. The 2 lb. size seems to be the perfect size for my needs. I've tried a few others, but I feel like I'm drinking coffee when I drink this. I'll be purchasing this again. Update#1: I just received my second bag of this coffee, and it is not nearly as good as the first. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem. I know every bag won't be the exact same, but these two are night and day. The first bag was amazing, and the aroma was something I couldn't get enough of. The second bag seems to have more dried beans and the aroma is there, but not overpowering like before. The roasted on date for the second bag is actually closer to my purchase than the first one, so that it isn't the problem. I'll be giving it another chance when this bag is gone, but if it's like this second bag, I won't be ordering again after that. I thought I had found my coffee before, but now I'm not so sure. Has this happened with anyone else?

The very best coffee we've ever had
I got the gift box to try 3 (med. roast, dark roast and queen harra) of their different beans and this is the one we really love. Actually, all of them were pretty darn good. We probably will vary our order from time to time because this coffee is that good. Compared to buying whole beans at the grocery store there is only a couple of bucks difference so I'm happy with the price as well. The difference in these beans and the bags in the grocery store is extremely different. Koffee Kult beans are shiny and yes, oily. That's how fresh roasted coffee beans are supposed to be. We use the beans in our Cuisinart grind coffee maker. We fill the bean grinder to the top for the best brew for us. Can't say enough good stuff about this coffee. I guess you don't know what you're missing until you try a quality bean like Kult's. These beans make a great cup of coffee. Aromatic, full flavor and delicious. Treat yourself to a bag, you won't be sorry.
