Our last latch was difficult to open and sometimes people thought the door was locked. This latch can be opened with one finger! The finish looks great. Our door didn’t have a lower hole for the handle. But it was easy to drill one and the included inside cap hides it. The lock comes with extra strike plates and parts for different types of doors, which I didn’t need.

As always, as I've come to expect from Schlage, it was easy to install, and it's durable and dependable. The finish is nice. I've come to love the Satin Nickel finish on a lot of products, and not just this one. Brass has a real tendency to scratch and peel over time. Satin Nickel is much more durable and doesn't broadcast blemishes like they were colored in with a highlighter. This Schlage handleset comes with all of the parts and instructions you'll need, and the lower part of the handle has a socket that adjusts up and down to fit varying door cuts. Additionally, the latch is adjustable for varying setbacks between the hole for the handleset and the door jamb. My criticisms and reason for taking away one star are as follows: 1) Removing the faceplate that comes pre-installed on the latch is a bit difficult. I had to really pry it off with a good screwdriver, and it bent a little. However, installing the new faceplate went on just fine. 2) Adjusting the length of the latch to fit my door jamb setback was also a bit difficult. I pressed down on that button as hard as I could, and it still didn't budge. I finally got something unstuck, though, and it's now installed fine. But, the initial struggle was a bit concerning. Also, and this is neither praise nor criticism, as many have pointed out, be sure to check the handedness of your door, because this handleset will only work one way. Handedness is generally gauged on where the hinges are as you view the door from the OUTSIDE. If the hinges are on the left, you have a left-handed door.

The Camelot Front Entry Handle is great. It really looks good and it was easy to install. I already had a handle on the door and was just replacing the old one. I didn't even have to look at the directions for installation since it was all so straight forward. My old handle did have a different length handle than the Camelot and a different size hole for the bottom of the handle. I enlarged the bottom hole, and with the adjustable handle length feature on the Camelot, it fit perfectly. The adjustable handle length is a great feature, it saves a lot of time and work. I already had a keypad locking mechanism for the door so I only needed the handle.The Camelot also came with 3 different frame plates so it was simple to match up the one that would fit into the old position on the door frame. It took about 10 minutes to install the new handle after a few minutes to remove the old one. If you are installing a handle in a new door, I suggest following the directions precisely, since there will be a bit of drilling and positioning that needs to be done accurately. This is a very nice handle and I recommend it.

I installed this to replace a simple knob and deadbolt for my front door. Hubby thought it was expensive for just a door handle- till he saw it installed. It really stepped up the feeling of our entry. Since I am using a high-quality deadbolt, this handleset did not need a lock itself. So, perfect! Pleas note, you will need to drill a hole for the bottom portion of the handle. This allows the handle to feel very sturdy in your hands. It took about 20 minutes to install as a replacement. The inside is a nice lever handle, with a clean and smooth finish. Much easier to open when you have slippery or somewhat full hands. Over time, we will be switching all of our door handles to lever-style.

After a few months of winter use in cold, snowy Canada, I can say that I can't be more pleased with this product. I'm adding some comments to my initial review and it definitely stays at 5 stars. When most products nowadays seem to be of poor quality, this one stands out as incredibly solidly made. I purchased this with the keypad deadbolt and they are a great combination. It was reasonably easy to install and the directions were good. Buy it if you are looking for a door quality door handle set.
