FamoWood 40022144 Latex Wood Filler - Pint, White

I found this wood filler easy to work with. I'm using it to repair some damage to my house siding. I smear this in the damaged areas and then press a wood grained stencil on it to closely match my siding. (The stencil I used is actually for putting a wood grain on a cake.) I wet the stencil each time I use it. There is a little pull up of the wood filler if I don't wait long enough but some sanding takes care of that. It's not perfect, (the stenciling not the wood filler), but it worked out fine. After sanding and painting the repairs are hardly noticeable. Much more cost effective than relplacing all the siding on my house. (My house is old so there is no way I would ever be able to obtain matching siding for repair work.) I did put the wood filler on too thick a couple of times and found some tiny cracks in a couple of days, but I just filled them with more wood filler. No problem. Patience. Some of these repairs were rather extensive and took multiple coats of filler. Smear some in and let it dry for a few days. Smear some more and let it dry. Final smear and stencil it. Yeah, patience. Kind of like spray painting. No patience means paint running down the side of your project. Even though I got a few tiny cracks after it dried I still give five stars as I feel that was my fault for putting it on too thick. This stuff dried hard and strong. I mean, it's really not meant for some of the larger repairs I used it for, but it worked out pretty good. I was satisfied enough that I purchased more to continue more siding repairs as well as some small repairs to the fascia.

This is good stuff. It's more liquid than most wood fillers, which makes it easier to push into small places like nail holes. It dries fast and smooth, with no cracks. Like other reviewers here, I'm not sure why the color is listed as white--when it dries, it's more of a beige or pale yellow--but if you're going to paint over it, that doesn't matter. It takes paint well. And like some others have noted, the lid is inexplicably hard to get off. But the product inside is great.

I recently used Famowood wood filler to repair deep cat scratches on the doors in my home, and I have to say that I was highly impressed with the results. The wood filler went on smoothly and evenly, making it very easy to work with. After applying the wood filler and allowing it to dry, I sanded it down until it was flush with the door's surface. The finished repair looked seamless and was virtually indistinguishable from the surrounding wood. I was also pleased with the durability of the wood filler. The repaired areas have held up well under normal wear and tear, and they still look great after several weeks. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with Famowood wood filler and would recommend it to others. It's an excellent product that delivers professional-quality results.

This a good product and it will take most stains.

I've tried at least half a dozen wood fillers over the years and FamoWood is the one I keep coming back to. It spreads smoothly, dries fast (about 15 minutes for shallow fills, longer for deep ones), sands beautifully, and doesn't shrink the way some others do. And, it's really hard and doesn't break away like some of the others I've tried.

No way is this product WHITE wood filler! Beige or light pine is a better description. My wood walls are painted white and if I use this to fill the seams and screw holes I will have to repaint the entire room.... If you need white (as I do) you will be stuck using that awful tube of Elmers wood putty which is a royal pain to apply. This product could be transferred to a caulking tube and would have been perfect for my job but it is definitely NOT white.

Very easy to work with. Is just the right consistency to easily fill in voids that were very thin. Drying time was consistent with instructions. Sanded smooth and when painted over, it was unoticeable.

So far this is my favourite wood filler.Latex base,dries in about 30 min.TDS doesnt says how deep i can fill,never tried deeper than 3mm.Filler is like a thick cream,it goes on very smooth.Very good for shalow repairs.I sand with 400 grit wet sponge to avoid dust and to smooth it out.Another 30 min to dry and paint.

Using it to fill melamine holes caused by screws. You can completely hide the holes with this stuff. Easy to apply, dries quickly. Once it's painted they are invisible. Excellent product.

Good quality and lasts in the pot for many months without going hard. Sands easily.

Seems to be a good product - time will tell how long it lasts, but its easy enough to apply and spread, and rubbing down is not a problem. I did not paint it, since it appears to be almost exactly the right colour anyway. Used outside to treat an older window frame.
