This is the first knitting loom project we have done. I got this not knowing anything about looms or anything but liked this came with both a circle and a rectangle loom. My daughter went and picked out yarn. We still haven’t used the yarn it came with in the package. She made a scarf using chunky baby blanket yarn and loved it. She also made her baby brother a small blanket. We haven’t tried the hat yet.We have since got the 4 piece loom set from Darice. The circle loom in this is about the same size as the second biggest in the 4 piece set. It was to big to make a hat for her. The loom is good and sturdy. She loved the rectangle one. Thought the circle was harder. She is now making scarfs for the whole family. It is a good set. Very sturdy. Doesn’t break easily. I even stepped on it and it was okay. The pick tool is nice and has a little hook on it. That comes in handy. However you have to use really chunky yarn with it. And it is somewhat hard to get a tight knit. It was worth the money and a good starter set. She is excited to try mittens and stuff next. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not the best instructions or yarn. *by M***E on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 11, 2016* The yarn isn't the best quality and the instructions leave something to be desired, mainly proper instructions on how to handle the loom and the proper way to wrap the yarn, and what size the looms and what kind of yarn you should use. Apparently, from what I've learned, looms come in all shapes and sizes and this is meant for bulky [5] and super bulky [6] yarn only. I learned this from youtube and some library research in book about loom knitting. It does make great netting if you use worsted [5] weight or DK [4] yarn. Other than these things, this is a quality loom. Buy a book or rent one about loom knitting before you get into this so that you know what you're getting into if you buy it. My daughter and I loves the loom but the instructions were too complicated for her, and for me as well, sadly. ### ⭐⭐⭐ She was able to use the long loom better than the round loom *by K***R on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on May 9, 2016* Would have given this a higher rating, however, the directions are worthless. There was no way for me to help my daughter figure out what she needed to do with the extremely complicated directions. Thankfully, youtube is rich filled with videos that explain how to use knitting looms. My daughter is 8 years old, but she did need quite a bit of assistance getting started. After while though, she got the hang of it. Using the. She was able to use the long loom better than the round loom. (The long loom can be used the create scarves and the round loom can be used to create hats). However, there wasn't enough yarn for her to complete one scarf without combining yarns. If I could do this all over again, I would just purchase the long loom on its own along with thick yarn and a knitting needle.
