Nice paint! Plus, like having a vanilla air freshener!
I got the 16 oz can for shelves about 3 feet wide x 6 feet tall. It wasn’t enough. I needed a second can. I definitely don’t regret it though. I painted a mass-produced shelf cabinet with a laminate finish, but the paint adhered to it well. The before-color was ebony and the Amy Howard paint I used was a light-medium color called Java. I’d say it was just a tiny bit darker in pictures than in person, but I like it. The paint has a nice thickness, but I needed 2-3 coats to cover the piece. That’s FYI, not a complaint, though, because, in my opinion, covering an ebony piece of laminate furniture with a light-medium paint is a big challenge. Clean up was easy - soap and water. To apply the paint, I used brushes, fuzzy rollers, and foam rollers. Good coverage with brushes. With a sufficient amount of paint load, I avoided bristle lines; if you apply the paint sheerly with a brush, you’ll see them, but that happens with all paints I’ve used. The foam rollers were my favorite for applying this paint. They created a very smooth surface and got right up to the edge of the corners within the shelving, making the corners much easier. Unfortunately, I started out with fuzzy rollers, which made the coverage less smooth; that’s why I’m mentioning the better results with foam. If I could do it over, I’d use foam rollers for the entire project and touch up with a brush. The most surprising thing about this paint - I’ve never experienced this with any other brand - was its pleasant vanilla smell! It was like having an air freshener in the room. The scent is barely noticeable - just a hint of clean and comforting vanilla. It’s something that ADDS VALUE to this product. Not only does a person not to have to worry about a chemical smell, especially if someone is sensitive to them, but you get a nice bonus! For that reason, I give this product five stars. Five stars to Amazon delivery, too, for bringing the product to my door, on-time, undamaged.

Love Amy Howard products
Amy Howard products are worth the money. So convenient that they are on Amazon. They go on so smoothly and often a minimal second coat is needed. Such good quality and colors are vast and keeping up with what is trending and still staying traditional.

Never used anything like it
I have painted alot of things over the years. I bought chalk paint when it first came out at least 15 years ago. This stuff is amazing. It goes on well, it covers, it feels good, it smells good and my tools are easy to clean. My work time has been reduced and I really like the color I chose. I am wondering if there is any downside. I am definitely using this again.

Great look with minimal prep
This paint is easy to use. In the past I've purchased it from Ace Hardware who have since discontinued it. I preferred being able to tint it however I liked. I'm not sure how I will ever match the two custom colors I currently have in two of my bedrooms. However....I'm very happy to have found it on Amazon in enough colors to choose paints for my kitchen and bathroom cabinets. It's easy to apply without having to strip off the old finish. The mat finish de-emphasizes blemishes. It dries fast so you can finish the job in a couple of days. The fact that I've used this paint on 8 pieces of furniture and will be using it on 2 sets of cabinets should give you an idea about how easy it is to use. I'm not sure what protective coat I will use. I've used the wax coating in the past to add a sheen but I might want something tougher for these cabinets.

Easy to use and it smells good!
Great product. Super easy to use (we painted indoors and there were no fumes, only a hint of scent which was not chemically at all). Nice coverage and it dried SO fast too! Giving 4 stars though because we did notice chipping the next day. It may have been the surface we used, but we are going to clearcoat it to protect from further damage. The good news is the coverage was so good, we had paint to touch up the chipped portions!

You absolutely will be thrilled with this paint!
Just as described, this paint is wonderful! I painted a 1983 dresser that was my very first purchase being an adult on my own and it was in somewhat rough condition on the top of it. One coat of paint completely finished it beautifully! I love the color and my hubby was very impressed with the paint as he is a retired professional painter, he mentioned that he wants me to purchase two more cans or a larger one if possible to paint another whole bedroom set! Thank you Amy Howard at Home!!!

Chalk base makes the finish not shiny. A softer looking effect
Great paint. Dries evenly. I painted kitchen cabinets and they look great!

Almost perfect.
Everything is perfect, except it won’t stay thin enough to paint with. I need to mix it between each loading of the brush. I’m going too try setting the lid on after I mix it, loading the brush, then set the lid on and hopefully it will stay thinner and I won’t need to keep stirring every time I load the brush. Otherwise it’s perfect, makes all my Grandmothers furniture look fresh, and vintage exactly as it was in her day.
