Piece of junk
This piece of junk is made from the thinnest, cheapest sheet metal available. I used it all of 3, maybe 4 times, and the handle broke off. The metal is also so thin that the grater does not hold square, making it very difficult to use when grating potatoes or anything with substance. Wrote seller with my complaint, not only no refund, but also belligerent responses challenging my right to even complain. "Sorry to hear your item is already broken after 3 months. We as a seller do not warranty end user. You can go ahead and contact Norpro and see if they willing to replace it for you if they offer warranty on their products. Thank you." A good seller stands by their product, even if more than 3 months have passed.

Great for the money
Works as you'd expect. The zester isn't that great, but I didn't buy it for that. Just be careful when using it, or you'll end up with knuckle shaving in your nachos as I did. Thankfully my guests didn't notice.

Disintegrated upon first use.
The handle is neither riveted nor welded to the grater body, but merely punch attached. The thin, insecurely attached handle twisted and came loose upon first use. I can't believe this got any good reviews at all. Amazon should really just should stop selling this thing at all because it's so flimsy. I guess you really do get what you pay for. I sent this back and will now have to look at buying something that costs $20.00 plus.

Disposable.
Grating a part of a cheddar cheese block bent the whole grater out of shape. It switched from a box to a diamond. Bent back easy though. This won’t last long, but it is sharp.

Great quality standard steel grater - very simple and traditional design (which is what I like and wanted)
I needed an simple SS grater and this fit the bill. At 8 bucks, I figured I had very little to lose. For the most part, I think it is a good product. It is relatively solid, it performs the functions to shred to a variety of different sizes, the portions that actually do the cutting came very sharp, the Grater holds up to occasional dishwasher usage, and the steel used does a pretty good job at resisting rust. It is also comfortable to use and the handle is pretty well designed. On the flip side, this is a product that really should be hand-washed (as noted). The stainless steel used does a pretty good job at resisting rust, but it will rust if not cared for and some dishwashers can really push steel in this department. Like knives, it should be washed shortly or immediately after usage, and preferably dried immediately after washing (which isn't all that big of a deal).Additionally, the steel itself must not be super hard because over time, my grater has lost a lot of its sharpness on the larger size I use the most, and it now requires more effort to grate items that are not super soft (it still grates things like cheese super easily and effectively). This part is my biggest letdown with the Grater. If I could do it over again, I would probably buy a slightly higher-end unit in a somewhat harder steel. While mine is still usable, it's probably going to need replacement within a year or two at the rate it's going (the last one I had was older than me).Still, I think it overall is a really good product and like most of what NorPro offers, exceptional values given the quality is generally very good and the price is fantastic.

Good for a grater of its kind I suppose
Not the strongest grater out there, but certainly better than most. you can apply a decent amount of force without worrying about bending it at all, and the blades are pretty sharp.I use my microplane for most jobs, but for coarser grating, this does the trick. Kind of a hassle to clean though, because of the many nooks and crannies... I would give it few stars, but I've never encountered a significantly better grater. Sad.UPDATE: I just used the Cuisinart "Surface-Glide" Box Grater and I have to take back what I said about there not being a better grater. GET IT! Wow it is amazing. And the other reviews agree: Cuisipro Surface Glide Technology 4-Sided Boxed Grater . It is so much sturdier than this grater when applying pressure, and the blades are significantly sharper (to the point of being dangerous--handle like a kitchen knife!), so you never end up shredding things, just cleanly and perfectly grating them. This Norpro grater shreds things all the time because the blades just aren't sharp enough. I think I will have to make the switch myself.

Good grater, slightly light weight as others have said
I got this to replace a grater that I really disliked because I kept getting cut ( Progressive International HG-85 6-Piece Grater Set , not recommended!) This one is much safer, works better on veggies, and I've been happy with it and had no problems. One minor issue is that the steel is relatively lightweight; when you press something against it, the grater may bend slightly. So I doubt that will have a 10 year life, but it's worked fine for a couple of months so far.As for a problem some other reviewers have noted: the handle -- I have not had any issue with the handle, but I don't hold it by the handle while grating. I recommend to hold it by the back side, i.e., to grate on one side and hold on the opposite.

No-Frills and Functional
This is a good no-frills grater. It feels a little weak and wobbly but if used in the manner intended it fulfills it’s purpose. I really enjoy the simple design without excessive features that other cheese graters have.
