1st one works perfectly with M.2 NVMe hard drive, included caddie and a spare PCIe slot.Uses the newer M.2 to U.2 (SFF-8639) interface rather than the earlier SATA interface.Said to be "hot-swappable" - but a quick re-boot after changing drive/caddie seems a safer bet if there's any chance of data being accessed during the swap!

Very easy product to use
I purchased this item because I have a few M.2 drives in external USB enclosures and want to update the SSD firmware periodically. This product let's me plug my M.2 drives into my main machine in a matter of seconds instead of opening my machine and inserting the drive into the main board/PCIe slot. I didn't try hot swapping since I don't know if my main board supports it but this product will be a life saver.

Questo adattatore è una manna ! Gli SSD NVMe sono complicati da scollegare, rispetto alle versioni SATA.Con questo dispositivo posso finalmente scollegarli dalla mobo quando non li utilizzo, prolugandone così efficienza e durata. Credo che Icy Dock sia l'unica ditta a produrre soluzioni simili.Il montaggio del disco sulla slitta è un tantino macchinoso, la cover in metallo ha dei dentini che vanno allineati alle tacche sullo slider che blocca l'SSD, altrimenti non si chiude. Consiglio inoltre di tagliare a misura il pad termico per comodità.Windows ha riconosciuto subito i drives (ovviamente dopo aver apportato i settaggi necessari nel BIOS).Se avessi più slot PCIe acquisterei altri adattatori come questo.Super-consigliato !!!
