WARNING: if you try these sardines, you won't want to eat any other
Be warned, if you eat these sardines, you will not eat any other brand, and these are not cheap. For example, other cheap brands are about $1 per can. These are north of $5 per can, and I've seen it up to $10 per can. If you subscribe, you can get them just under $4 per can, but that's still way more than the standard brands. The sardines themselves are big and actually are packed tight in the can. Thus the ratio of meat to oil is very high compared to other brands, making the value a bit better for the money. For example Wild Planet sardines are small, and are not packed to the extent that the Nuri sardines are. Thus there is significantly more oil, which weight-wise is almost as much as the sardines themselves. I would estimate that the amount of sardines in a Nuri tin is almost double than a cheaper brand. The fish itself is top notch. Cooked perfectly; firm, and not overly fishy. Compared to other brands, there are less internal organs, which can be a minus or plus, depending if you like that or not. There are some nutrients in the organs that might be missing, but I think it's a good balance. The combination of spices along with the sardines themselves infuse the olive oil with a warm and rich combination of spice and umami. The clove and laurel give an additional depth of flavor. Definitely do not throw the oil out...it's arguably the best part of the experience, especially if you eat this with a salad, crackers, or rice. There is a small chili pepper in there, but it is only mildly spicy and edible, along with a slice of cucumber and carrot. The only inedible thing in the can is the clove. The health benefits are off the charts as well. Sardines provide protein, but have many more nutrients than that. The bones provide a lot of calcium, and the omega-3 content (the good omega fat) is really high. Along with olive oil, which has a whole host of benefits as well, your blood work after eating this a while (maybe 2-3 times a week) will amaze your doctor. After having Nuri sardines, I'm totally ruined for other sardines. I tried eating another brand, and I literally gagged. I might as well be eating cat food than other brands of sardines. Don't say that you weren't warned.

Great ‘dines!
The best tinned sardines in the world; taste where it all began. During the First World War, sardines were packed in Portugal and Spain for our soldiers. And Nuri still does things the original way: hand-packed and high quality sanitation, smoking, and original recipes- for the oil and tomato sauces- 4 flavors, all great. This one is my favorite, but the spicy tomato is great as well. There’s a variety pack of all 4 flavors available on Amazon, that’s how I found my favorites. The size of the sardines are great, they’re juicy and tender, not too salty but nice brine umami flavor. I have yet to open a can with a “fishy” odor. Some reviews mention that, usually as a result of damage during shipping which is easy enough to have reimbursed. It’s never happened to me after ordering hundreds of sardines from Amazon. They’ve always been fresh and tasty without damage; they are packaged well (pictured) and, of course, sardines are quite literally a highly nutritious superfood. Just be careful that you pick high quality brands (stay away from any packaged in seed or vegetable oil). The price isn’t as cheap as other brands but it’s also not as high as some, and the quality is on par with the most expensive cans. Nuri is an awesome company: there’s a great video on YouTube of their factory and the process from sea to tin that is wonderful.

Good taste, quick shipping, great quality.
Very tasty, and quick shipping. I've tried a few sardine products now, and this one has a mellow taste, is packed in oil, and works the best of the ones I've had. The size of the fish is 'medium', and they appear not to have been overcooked to mush. Recommend!

Very tasty sardines!
Very tasty sardines, the spiced olive oil is not very spicy, rather has a mix of clove, chilli, cucumber carrot and black pepper in a very high quality olive oil. Fish is tender and falls apart easily, I had them over a bed of fluffy white rice topped with a squeeze of lemon juice and some sesame seeds, add the remainder of the oil from the tin into the rice as well. Are they 3x as good as King Oscar? I don’t think so, but they’re still delicious and great for a special occasion! Beautiful packaging as well, feels very gourmet.
